Shower Leak

I have a 2023 Cougar Half-Ton 25 RDS. I am getting a leak that shows up under the wall on the left side of the shower. I cannot see any visible leak from the shower tub itself. If I turn a hair dryer on and run it along the wall, water comes out. Anyone else having any of these issues? Any suggestions? I have had to the dealership three times with no resolution.

I had to run caulk completely around the seam at the shower walls to the base along the door and all. They figure that the shower base should be sufficient to keep the water in but I had water showing up outside my shower as well until I did this. No water since.

Are you referring to the wall of the shower enclosure or the actual wall of the bathroom? If it's the enclosure, caulking the inside border as suggested will do the trick. Just remember, water runs downhill, so caulk the vertical seams as well. If it's the actual wall of the room, you have a leak under the shower and need to have your dealer rip and tear till he finds it.

A brand new Keystone Cougar that leaks, what a shocker Another funny thing, I have a 2018 half ton that leaked in a lot of places but not the shower. I often thought it will leak around the shower drain with all the movement in the base, and around where the walls meet the base because of a visible un-caulked cap but no. I think the base has a raised lip on it which the walls sits over preventing water to leak out. I would do what Max suggest...fill that cap with the proper mold & mildew clear silicon...I'm sure you can do just as good a job on the silicon as the lazy fast caulkers at the factory I would tape each side of the joint...cut a small opening in the tube of caulk and push in the silicon as much as possible not over filling the joint but flushing it out to the surface...wait a minute or so and smooth out the silicon with a wet finger using a dish soap and water mixture. Make sure you use the proper silicon that will not be affected by the cold. That's another question/issue...I've never seen a bathroom silicon good for winter conditions?

Another thought after reading #3...it could be leaking/dripping behind the wall where the faucet and or shower head is connected and running down between the wall and shower wall onto the floor?

a few pictures or diagram of layout and where it is occurring would be helpful. I would start on the roof and work my way down , is it the same wall as the faucet handles are on kind of questions

We have the same model Cougar and also came with the shower area leak from the factory. Not much QC at the factory or the dealer but lucky my son in law is a great RV tech. He ran silicon sealant inside and out on the sliding shower door frame. He also took the access panel off from the lower part of the shower and checked under the shower floor. Common problem with this model Cougar and have read of many people with the same problem. Best to take someone with knowledge of RV's and check out what you plan to buy from stem to stern before signing any paperwork at the dealer. I had problems with the Key TV module and the In Command panel and finally had to bring it into the shop for 2 months to get things corrected. Hope you get the problem corrected.

Leak

If you look at the diagram the water is under the wall across from the toilet…on the same side as the shower water faucets.

For clarification; the leak is under the wall with the sliding bedroom door? I would think that they would have brought them all up in the wall where the toilet, kitchen sink and shower share? Are the shower faucets on the wall that faces into the bedroom?

Leak

The water comes from the wall where the bedroom sliding door is…opposite the toilet…the shower faucets are on the same side where the water is coming out under the wall…

After taking a shower, I take a hair dryer and run it along the lower part of the wall and water comes out…

Pull the fixture off the wall of the shower and look for the leak.

I would caulk first...if that does nothing check the shower head/hose connection first and then the faucet connections. If only leaking when shower is on it could be shower head. Problem is you probably won't be able to see anything unless you remove that wall. I would demand your useless dealer fix the problem by any means including dismantling the shower and checking for floor damage...call Keystone and complain!

Leak

They ended up having to remove the wall. During assembly, they drilled a hole through the pipe and left it.

I have a 2022 Sprinter that is leaking in the same area and the repair guy that came out found that it is from the slide and the hot water heater

I have a similar issue. Would you elaborate more. Should I replace the shower faucet. I’m also thinking about switching toilets. I have a thetford and it seems like they have lots of problems.

Yes!! I unscrewed a few of the under belly to see there is any leak from tank but so far what I see its dry but when I look below of the belly the tank runs along that area. It’s all dry though. The leak came through the facets and a little trickle that goes down the inside wall down under shower. Also the ptrap connection to the shower is got some water coming out it.
