Notch sensitive is when you 'wound' a material (scratch/gouge/bend), it sets up stress points that can lead to failure. Some aluminum alloys are very prone to that. I don't care much for how Anderson partially flattens the ends for welding.

Raising your potential new 5er - it may have self levelin. On some off camber sites you may not be able to raise the pin adaper high enough (2-3 inches) to release whereas a conventional hitch only needs to be unloaded from the pin weight to disconnect.

OK, with all that said, many use these hitches and have absolutely no problems nor ever will. While my discussion is mostly opinion and based on a long background in building power plants since I haven't 'done the actual numbers' feel that like OTR truck companies I prefer to use a heavy steel weldment for safety.
