AC and Heat questions
Model is Fuzion FZ420. I have 2 roof AC units and 2 thermostats.
Question 1
The main coach AC is in the bedroom has a prep for heat strip but does not have it. The rear garage has the heat strip but does not seem to be plugged in. I read from the factory, this is common. Is there anything I need to do besides just plug and use?
Question 2
I assume the garage mounted thermostat controls that heat strip direct? Therefore the garage thermostat won't control or affect general floor ducted furnace heat....right?
Question 3
So the main coach thermostat set to heat will kick on the furnace. But if the optional heat strip was added to the front unit, would both furnace and strip work off the main coach thermostat without a problem?
Thanks

Funny I found the same issue on mine from factory, heat strip installed in garage AC but not plugged in. Thermostat in garage controls just that units heat/AC. FWIW don't depend on heat strip in garage to keep it warm in there.

OK cool, that's what's thought. I have not plugged the heat strip in yet. I'm in South Florida, so don't expect a need for it. Just planning on the future.
Last night I set rear thermostat to heat and set to come on. Fan blew air but never got hot. So I'm positive the strip isn't plugged in. I will get up there and figure that out and try again.
I also set front thermostat to heat. The furnace came on and produced heat. I assume this is run off propane? I noticed also when shutoff it took a while....maybe cool down mode?

I'm courious about the "heat strip". I have a Fuzion 325. Front thermo turns on the furnace, rear thermo only blows air, no heat. What is the heat strip your referring too? What I do is a small electric space heater in the garage. Run off the dryer plug, i have no dryer. That, with the fireplace, and a little help from the furnace, worked great last weekend 15 overnight. and by great, i mean the wife didnt complain

Yes, as I tested my front thermo turns on furnace. Rear thermo will just blow air but should active the heat strip. But they don't seem to plug it in, just install it. Odd....
Like in your home AC, with a heat pump, there is what they call E-heat or emergency heat. There is a heated grid in the air duct that will get hot and Heat the passing air.
Pull off your air filter covers and remove filter. Mine is a Coleman Mach system with the two side covers/filters. Inside if equipped, you will see a metal finned tube bolted in. Looms to be blocking the insides of the opposite side of the air conditioning fan, behind the cooling coils.
If not equipped, there is usually a label at the bottom edge that tells you that's where it would bolt in to.
If equipped, it will be in there. But there is a white plug and wire harness that's coming off of the grid. Fairly large wires, maybe 12/14ga. sized. Two wire plug. To use, you need to plug it in up there. Should be an obvious mating receptacle and I believe only goes in one way.
I have to lower my bed back in the garage, crawl back up there and plug mine in. Just been busy..

My thermostat is clearly marked HEAT, either gas (Furnace) or Electric (Heating Strip). Do not expect much from this heating strip

I have 2 acs 1 is a heat pump. The thermostat has a setting for "gas" & "elec", if set on "elec" the heat pump will run until the inside temp drops 4-5 degrees below the t-stat setting then the furnace will kick in. The heat pump works very well until the outside temp drops to 38-40 degrees then it starts blowing cold air. Also with heat pump if you raise the t-sat temp more than 4-5 degrees above the inside temp the furnace & heat pump will start til the temp comes up & then the heat pump takes over.

This is a link to the part. It bolts in and plugs in. Probably can find it cheaper but it's a good pic.

I spoke to someone there via email awhile ago regarding another matter and they said they ship to Canada all the time, no problem.
Not sure on rates though. Likely expensive, especially if you get hit with doody also. (Ya duty, I meant to spell it that way)
