Fuel Station Blowing Fuse
Last time I used the fuel station was maybe 3 weeks ago.
Well today I go and try to get some fuel and the pump dose not start
After trying to turn it on/off 2 or 3 times the fuse blows.
So I have replaced 2 fuse's so far where do I start to look at getting it working again. We are leaving Monday the 13th for a 3 week trip and I need to get this working again.
Also is the fuel pump in the tank or is it where the handle is that you get the fuel from.
I have a 2012 fuzion toy hauler.
Thanks Ron.

Just got back in went and looked at the pump I see it is not in the tank and it says its a GPI pump I can not see the numbers on the rest of the pump to small & to dark outside for me to read.
Ill have to get on this in the am.
I seen some guys are having the gear's get swollen and its jams up the pump and blows the fuse. They are just sanding a tad off each gear and its working good as new. Have to give it a shot in the am.
Ron.

I took the pump off took out the 2 white gears #17 and ran some 100 grit sandpaper across them and then did 220 grit for a finish. You could see on the cover #19 that they where rubbing. Put it all in hit the pump button and its all working again
What's sad I just spent around $50,000 for this trailer and have only pumped maybe 35 gal and had to fix the pump so soon
I got the pump pic off a diff site thanks for who every posted it.

I just recently purchased a Raptor 300mp and I'm new to this setup. How do you gain access to this pump? Is it accessed from underneath and where in relation to the switch for the pump? I just want to be ready to work on this if need be.

My fuel pump is in the box on the side of the trailer like where you get the gas from.

Be careful
Just a word of EXTREME caution boys. Be careful with steel on steel around your fuel pump. A spark could be.....most unpleasant.

Same problem. Bought ours used. First time toy hauler owners and when I tried to start pumping fuel we got no power. The fuse was blown. I didn't want to drive the trailer 200 miles to the dealer so this forum helped out. Pulled the pump, took the cap off and removed the two white gears. A little sanding and a new fuse, works great!! This forum is awesome for this stuff

Have any of you had your tank not vent right. Mine makes a loud banging noise popping whatever you want to call it. Can't seem to find the culprit, you can loosen the cap and it lets off lots of pressure. Even if you leave it loose to vent it does the same thing.

fuel station blowing fuses
I am having almost the same problem you are except I cannot get gas out of my tank as it blows a fuse as soon as I turn the timer on. I don't even get to the pump switch.

As soon as I turn the timer on you can hear the fuse pop and blow.

2012 Raptor RP395LEV Fueling Station EZ-8RV
Just letting you guys know that if you are technical enough to find this post you are technical enough to fix your Fueling Station problem. Before I really knew what was happening I was fighting my pump for about a year.
I have the GPI Model EZ-8RV Manufactured Oct 28 2011
First problem was no power. When I hit the power switch nothing happened and my fuel gauge also was dead.
In my 2012 Raptor RP395LEV they did not route 12v power through the 12v fuse box. This confused me and triggered a service call. That's when I learned that the fuse for the fueling station is located behind the battery up front. Ok - fuse replaced and apparently the fueling station was working at my service center I guess (I assumed anyways) - and when I got home things were working. 2 months alter however no more pumping.
But what was causing the fuse to blow in the first place? Apparently the now famous gear swelling was locking up the motor and causing an overload. And it was the swelling gear that was locking up the pump now.
When I hit the power switch I could hear the motor energize but it was not moving and pressurizing the discharge hose. So I never left the switch on for more than ~2 seconds this time.
So - finding this thread and seeing how easy it was to fix I figured I'd give it a shot. My pump in mounted on a dumb bracket in an awkward place that requires I remove 4 x 3.8" sheet metal tapped bolts first to gain access to the cover of the pump housing the gears.
Once I got my pump loose and removed the 4 x 1/2" bolts holding the cover plate on, the gears easily came out. I happen to have a bench sander but really this is not necessary - any flat surface and basically any grit sandpaper would probably do the job. I'm no expert and I didn't remove a lot, but it's easy to put the gears back in and close up the access panel and test the pump. VOILA PUMP is WORKING!
I had scheduled a service call - it was going to be 3 weeks before they could get me and I'd have to drive my rig 45 miles one way. I'm super happy that this was something i could fix so easy.
People say that the gears are swelling and rubbing against the cover. I suppose thats possible but my gasket was also deteriorating - so I kinda wonder if that is also a contributing factor.
I'm gonna go ahead and over the Overhaul Kit for the EZ-8 and have that on hand should I need to do anything here in the future.
Go on. Fix your pump. It's easy took me about an hour.

Thanks for adding the photos. I read this thread a while ago and seeing photos clearly adds a lot of help for most of us.

the ah-ha moment was when i opened the cover...
after reading the forum i had visions of sanding the teeth in the gears or something dumb. When I popped the cover exposing the gears I had that "ahhh" moment.
Folk this really is that easy...
Now I get to go CANCEL my service call!!

Once these gears have been sanded to fix the issue, will it happen again? That is, do the gears continue to swell and have to be sanded a second time?

I sanded my gears. The pump spins when power is applied now, but it doesn't move any fuel. Does that mean I removed too much material from the pump gears?

To answer my own question...yes I removed too much material. I got a new set of gears today (for free from ECI Fuel Systems). Installed the new gears and everything worked fine. The new gears are a brown instead of white. Let's hope this newer material holds up better.

Thanks you for that update. How did you get them for free? Did you explain what happened and they were good enough about it to just replace them for you?

Awesome thread, I'm gonna have to take a look at my gears! First I'll look for my fuse. I have a 2011 Raptor 4014 Velocity LEV and I don't have any blown in the fuse box inside, someone earlier mentioned a fuse up front by the batteries, I'll check there. Thx again!!!
