Welcome from outside Hershey (Linglestown). My advice would be do plenty of reading and make your first trip close so your not far from home if you have issues. Keep a notepad and pen handy for things you might find you'll need. There are some nice campgrounds around or under an hour from us.

I agree with the others in saying your first trip (shake down cruise) needs to be close to home. Our first trip with our Terrain was only about 5 hours (with puppy pee stops) from home.

We used a notepad for two reasons. First, we made a list of stuff we need to have in the travel trailer but didn't. Secondly, we made a list of the items we needed to be fixed or questions answered by our dealer.

from NC.

Hi from Skippack, PA just NW of Philadelphia. Welcome. Did you buy from the RV show in Hershey last week? We were there on Friday. Anyways, we are a month into our camper and are also new to camping. I agree with everything that was said above. We took our first two trips to a local state park (French Creek). It was about an hour away towing and was perfect for our purpose. It gave us towing experience (which was very foreign to us) and was just the perfect amount of time to keep the anxiety in check. It also gave us practice connecting an unconnecting our TT to/from our TV. We also kept a list (and went to the stores both times). Tomorrow we're going on our third journey to Lake in Wood Camp up your way. This time, we're meeting friends. Hopefully we'll have everything we need for this journey. One other thing, read tons of stuff from this site. I found out so much here and when I had a question, everyone was very helpful. Again welcome and have fun with it.
