USS Avalanche

Went camping this weekend and what a mess. Our go to campground is only about 25 minutes away, so since the wife had to work, I left early with my 4 year old daughter. While getting everything set up outside i noticed water coming out from the bottom of the camper. It took a second or two for me to understand what was happening and then it hit me. So I ran inside to find the bathroom completely flooded. Water everywhere and pouring down the heater vent. My daughter had left the water running with the plug in the sink. Took every towel I had to soak up the water in the bathroom and basement. Not sure if I'll have any problems down the road but that was not how I wanted to start a long weekend. She's so damn cute I couldn't fuss at her but I did explain how important it is to turn off the water. I'll be keeping a closer eye on her going forward.

Leave doors and compartments open with some fans running for as long as possible and you should be fine. If you don't have vent covers, install some so you can have circulation while in storage. Smile .... Could have been worse ..... not a black water spill.

Just remember that someday you will be walking her down the isle with a tear in your eye, and laughter in your heart... and a good story to tell around the campfire till then!

(Father of two GROWN girls advice) Enjoy the journey. They grow up too fast!

She learned how important it is and you handled it well. In your life that will only be a footnote that caused no harm.

I guess the older I get more things just roll off. I might have lost my temper a few years ago but I know she didn't mean to. All my camping buddies have had a good laugh.
