I am making the assumption that you have a Dometic refrigerator since you said it's a model 2852. If it's like the one in my Cougar, then try this:

If you open the door and look at the top of the door, the trim is held in place with three phillips screws. Removing those three screws allows the upper trim to be removed, then you can slide the panel into the slots in the side trim. Be sure the two pins are installed in the bottom trim so the panel doesn't slide down further than the pin position.
