I think the liability and other than collision coverage is more cost effective. So what I'm gathering is you all have collision coverage on your RV's even if your trucks policy covers it while towing.
Will your tow vehicle insurance policy cover a fire in the camper, lightning strike, wind tipping the camper over, or other unforeseen damage while parked disconnected? Asking “is it normal to have coverage” seems irrelevant if you are not interested in some of the responses. No one is lecturing you.

Does anyone know? I did email my auto agent. If I need it on the campers policy so be it, just don't want to have double coverage.
Thanks for posting. It made me go back and take a look at my coverage. No loan but both collision and comprehensive.

The liability coverage from your tow vehicle paid for the repairs to the other guys MH.
The collision coverage on your 5ver policy paid for the damage to your 5ver.
Liability extends to a trailer/camper/5ver from the tow vehicle. A separate policy is needed for Comprehensive and Collision on what's being towed. Comprehensive coverage protects against damage to your trailer/camper/5ver caused by non-collision events that are outside of your control. This includes theft, vandalism, glass and windshield damage, fire, accidents with animals, weather, or other acts of nature. It has nothing to do with whether it's in motion at the time of occurrence.
