zero gravity ramp door

Hey all,
New to this camping thing and previously just been lurking on the site.. Question for you all is should my ramp door actually be on the ground? currently if no one stands on it is about 1'1/2 up in the air..

thanks

Mine sits level but I have to give it a real pull to get it to open from the vertical position. I don't know if there is an adjustment for the spring system that makes it a zero gravity door.

Normally it would sit on ground (evenly if you're on level ground). Must have beefier springs then the rest of us or they were adjusted too tight (more lift then weight of door). Mine sits on the ground

Thanks guys. Any idea if there is an adjustment? It comes down pretty easy but it’s a pain to load the toys by myself

My ramp was replaced under warranty, the new ramp still hangs in the air wile down after 2 years of use . The original door was heavier to raise . I use alumaumn ramp that holds the door down .

I have a 6" lift on my TH and the ramp door rests on the ground when open, think yours needs an adjustment, not sure how though.

Hozco, you probably have either six or seven large springs located at the bottom of your ramp. The only way I know to adjust the tension is to remove one of the springs. That can be done in the closed position. Only remove one, that's all it would take.

ours sits on the ground, even when it's parked on a slope and leveled. sounds like yours need an adjustment of some kind.

I am having issues with ours hanging in the air as well. 2015 Impact 341 that also has the lower internal ramp beam twisting when I lower the ramp all the way. I tried to attach some photos to show what I'm talking about. Dropped it off at the dealership on Friday to see what we can do for warranty repairs.

While we're on the topic, anybody know why those holes in the very last picture have threads?

My door was hanging in the air also. It is my 3rd door due to the last 2 failing under the load of my Goldwing. I just totally rebuilt this door. When I took it apart I was very surprised to see that there is nothing inside these doors other than styrofoam. Mine had 11/4 thick styrofoam and 1/8 inch deck. Now it has a heavy duty aluminum inner structure with 1/2 plywood deck. It will set on the ground now.

I don't think this is a zero gravity door. On my zero gravity door you cannot see the hinge or any springs. Everything is inside the rear bulkhead.
