5er Hitch Cover

Anyone using a hitch cover? Trying to decide if I want to try a hitch cover or get a trifold bed cover. Had hitch for about a month and already getting some rust on it. Thanks

I have a roll up bed cover that covers the hitch.

About 3 trucks back I bought a heavy storage container, probably from WalMart, that was big enough to cover the hitch. I drilled about a 1.250" hole in the side for the Curt hitch handle. Works pretty good.
I didn't know they made hitch covers.
I have a roll-up bed cover now, but I'm hanging on to the box. Ya never know...

No covers here, designed for outside.
PS, If you put a trifold on, watch for clearance issues on tight / off camber corners.

This hitch is a tool. I suppose you might cover it and keep it nice and tidy so it's resale value is way on up there. I think I'll pass.

Yeah wasn’t sure about it rusting etc. About everything I read online, people used covers or the bed cover. Felt kind of dumb for leaving it in the truck with no protection but apparently that’s the norm. I’ll continue as is and keep my tool box 😬

Jim, dual purpose for your toilet bowl liners.

I keep mine covered under a tri fold bed cover unless RV is hooked up. Even when camped I cover bed back up, one to keep prying eyes out and two to keep hitch out of the weather as much as I can. If you have a desire or way to cover it I would do so, you don't leave your toolbox open and sitting outside in the weather do you?? Your hitch is a tool just as your tools in your toolbox, just on a bigger scale. I try and protect my stuff and keep it in as good of condition as I can. Just my opinion.

If I didn't have a tonneau cover for other reasons, it wouldn't be covered.

Have a cover in the garage used before covering the bed when the aux fuel tank was installed. A soft roll up works well.

I bought a 2015 F-350. Bought a B&W 5er hitch that takes less than 5 minutes to take off-or put on. Great!!!! no worry about this problem anymore.

I got one of those hitch covers from Amazon, & like it well. Have no regrets with the purchase. I just like keeping the road grime off. Doesn't take any time at all to put on or off. Just use a large paper clip to close up the extra opening where the handle goes through it.

X2 !! That's what I have, it's 3+ years old, looks new, never leaked, doesn't sag with heavy snow loads, seals well, easy to open/close and doesn't break the bank and from my experience, fast and comprehensive customer support.

I drive a Dodge Resistol Mega Cab so my box is very short. I installed a hard cover with four sections which gives me all the clearance I need for very sharp turns. With the cover closed and tailgate locked nobody knows what I am carrying when there is no fifth wheel behind me.

5th wheel Cover

I use a Peragon Bed Cover. It folds down into the bed, locks, is aluminum, water tight and easily removed. www.peragon.com/ It pulls right over the top of my hitch.
