furnace issue
this furnace works correctly 90% of the time but occasionally will not relight once the temp drops at night and seems to be getting worse
you switch it to off and back on and it works fine for a while, then the next night it may do it again
I have a mobile tech lined up to come look at it, not with the trailer but looks like all the access is from inside
is this something a mobile tech can get done pretty easily or is it better to take it to a shop?
I have an olympian heater to keep me warm in the camper but am worried about the underbelly and pipes
if this takes a while to get fixed is there anything I can stick in the underbelly for a little bit of heat that is safe?
not wanting to bring the trailer south for a month...
at that point it goes into the shop for 6 month roof check etc and could be worked on
thanks for any suggestions

It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to get it out and another 10-15 minutes to diagnose if he has the right testing equipment. Hopefully he already asked brand/model of the furnace and has parts on hand.
I’m leaning towards a control board. If it is and not covered by warranty put a dinosaur brand in.

he did not ask anything and I don't know this guy, just found him on google
I already took the wooden cover off from under the frig thinking I should find out what model etc and I see nothing on it, do not even know the brand, maybe he will know where to look
thanks a lot for the info and I will definitely get that dinosaur brand if we need a controller

I echo Chuck on this one (by experience).
Mine was acting up the same as yours... it was diagnosed as the control board, replaced with the "Dinosaur Electronics" board as has been running flawless!

come to think of it I have all the manuals in a drawer inside the camper, when I get there tomorrow night should be able to tell which brand it is
I do not see it online anywhere
quick question on sealing up the sides of the furnace, had that done a couple of years ago, confused as to why those are sold like that with no seals to keep the air pressure in????
is everyone having to seal up the sides of their furnace with silver tape or was that supposed to be done at the factory before it shipped?
2 years ago I had a lot air coming out the sides of the box part of the furnace and it was not allowing to build up enough pressure I guess, seemed to fix it for a while but it still occasionally would mess up
I checked that and there is one small place leaking air but is there a better solution than the flimsy silver tape they used to fix that? does not seem like it will last long term
guess that is where the mobile repair guy will start, but will see what the tech says
thanks for all the help guys

Aluminum tape can last for years. My S&B house was built in 1974. Last year I replaced the central heat/Air. They had to do a duct check and it passed with flying colors.

They are available on line at the manufacturers sites. You'll need brand and model number.

Update
Wanted to update this
The problem on my Suburban furnace was the control board
After a week of use it seems to be reliable now, no intermittent issues with relighting
As a side note my rv pointed out atwood furnaces are easier to access and work on because they can be reached from outside the trailer
and suburban hot water heaters are easier for repairs...
This is 2 things i will watch for in my next rv

thought i would update this again
3-4 days later the heater started its intermittent bull**** again, this thing has been a nightmare from day one
after a year it started this mess and it has never worked correctly
because it does not get that cold here i am able to manage but has been a real hassle
the rv is 6 months in one part off the state and 6 months in another so hard to get it resolved with the same repair people
a control board, 3 thermostats, 3 propane tank valves and new hoses- nothing fixes it
i will never own another suburban heater in an rv, major pain in the butt to access and work on
every time it has to be pulled completely out from inside
this is #1 thing on the list for the next rv -atwood heater
despise things that are set up to be a pain to repair, stupid design
about to order the kit that has every electrical switch in it and HOPE this resolves it
will update this later
