I see RV places selling those hoses that shrink up into next to nothing when no pressure is in them. I have several of them at my house, but the flow is so much more restrictive.

Anyone else running those on your camper? Any flow issues?

I also use large garage type hooks and coil the hose up and screw the ends together. After a while you learn how to coild it to the right size to fit nicely on the hook.

LOL at your comment Sourdough I spent much of my teen years swimming in a wide irrigation ditch playing tag with my buddies. I rarely got sick so I think germs and viruses were intimidated by my immune system.

Here is my question regarding those Zero-G hoses, do you get the same flow from them? Maybe it doesn't matter? Maybe as long as you have good pressure, that is all you need?

Yes. They are 5/8" ID while your RV will have 1/2"ID PEX plumbing. Many CAMCO, Valterra and Apex RV hoses are 1/2" unless you specify (and pay more for) the larger ID versions

So those of you that put on a water filter, is that so you can drink the water? I always bring Sparkletts 5 gal type water jugs, I don't trust spigot water for drinking. Plus it's one less thing I have to deal with.

Don't know if you can keep constant pressure on those collapsible hoses. Maybe the newer versions are better made.

Cooking and coffee. We usually carry bottled water to drink.

I drain/coil mine up in one of the storage compartments, but I DO NOT connect the ends. I'm more worried about mold growth than critters, if it did get a critter. My procedure is to connect the hose to the faucet & run it a bit before connecting to the rv, that should wash any critters out, probably not the mold. You sanitize your water system after winter storage for mold, but close up the hose ends to create mold??

Zero-G claims that you can plus many on another RV forum say that they have had nary a problem. The hoses that totally collapse (as seen on TV) - I wouldn't trust them after having one that lasted about a week even without constant pressure

I use the blue inline filter to keep CG system crud out of my system. We change CGs often and never drink their water.

The Zero G hoses are not collaspable hoses like the things you see on TV. These hoses are much better than those type hoses. They don't have that memory that standard hoses have so you can just wad them throw into a tote or bucket and it will just stay there. Where as the standard hose come alive like a snake and tries to escape it confines.

I'll second the recommendation on the Zero-G hoses. I bought one off the shelf at WalMart not knowing anything about it except they said drinking water safe. Just bought another one for the Bigfoot. I'll convert all the house hoses to Zero-G as they wear out. More choices are available on line WalMart and probably Amazon. I bought the 50ft version as that was all WalMart had on the shelf.

I liked the idea so I looked them up on Amazon(.ca) and the reviews were less than spectacular. Seems like a lot of them are developing leaks after a couple months of use.
I think I'll hold off for now.

They do have a 5 year warranty that APEX will honor as long as you keep the receipt. They are better then my last two CAMCO hoses that if cool (below 60*F) wont roll up or the crappy Chinese made aluminum fittings break off. I fixed one with $12/set brass fittings and scrapped the other, replacing it with a Zero-G

put all my hoses in separate plastic trash bags. Same for drain hoses (Wash, rinse with bleach those first. ) no odors in storage compartment.

Water hose

I am using a hose that I bought in 1972. Lifetime warranty. Never needed it. Do not know if it is drinking water safe or not Will not kink flexible in cold weather. Bought a hose hanger from Home Depot and mounted it on the front wall of basement

We use a plastic tub, about 22" x 16" x 12" tall. It holds 100' of fresh water hose (which we've needed in a COE and a NFS campground), 25' hose to flush black tank, and a small bucket in the middle that holds the black tank treatment bottle and a spray nozzle.

I just coil them up connect the 2 ends together to keep bugs from crawling in and to keep water from dripping out then then throw them in the basement
