Carlop there's no reference to the size of the damage (baseball, fist, small rock?) which would or should influence a decision on repair or replace. This cause of the damage should IMHO also be considered as far as it being repeatable. If your kid hit the door with a baseball then maybe some coaching on pitching is in order. If it was a fist maybe some anger management? A drunken fist some multi faceted assistance? I hope you take that in the humerus tone that was intended. The point being, it would be a waste of time, money, effort if a known cause wasn't addressed.
If damage is severe enough that you're considering replacement you must consider the cost of graphics as previously pointed out and that the replacement graphic will not match as the dye lots and fading will alter the color. Also consider your skill level at the repair or replacement. Applying a large graphic, which will not come pre applied, can be tricky to apply correctly and a very expensive learning experience if you it takes you several attempts. Treckwood is the best source I know for sourcing if replacing it yourself. If you consider a repair then I'd suggest a boat repair shop if available in your area, if no boat shop then an auto body shop that specializes in fiberglass repairs as just smearing bondo in the default and spraying it with krylon paint won't end well.
Good luck with your project.
