Loved Sky King and Fury. And The Three Stooges. Between them and Monty Python, I'm sure that stunted my growth. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

Actually, with few exceptions, 2 6 Volt batteries will out power 2 12 Volt batteries. They really are the way to go unless you really have no need for the additional power/reserve.

If you go with a 12 volt look for as many AHs as possible shown on top of the battery, a group 27 or possibly 31 if they'll fit in the same box. You DO NOT need/want any battery listing CCA or CC amps listed on the top for your RV use.

JM2¢ ... If you don't plan on boondocking, one group 27 - 12v deep cycle will most likely be all you will ever need.
My apologies to the OP, but I have resisted long enough.........
Saturday mornings at my friends house with:
Heyyy Poncho! Heyyyy Cisco! and crazy movies with Zacherly while constantly stirring our Coco Marsh in our pewter Hoppy cups. (Hmmmm, could those cups be the cause of some of my memory loss??? ) Oh! And getting my butt whipped when we finally did get a TV and I drew on the screen with Winky Dink without the plastic film. Crayolas did make it color TV.

Think I'll get what most recommended, group 27 flooded battery, probably from Walmart or Tractor Supply. Keep it simple. Thanks

Would love too! If I was to go “off grid” “boondock” “dry camp” with a large solar array, I’d consider taking out a loan for some.
They are worth it, more charge cycles, more discharged and lighter. RV’s dream.
If your serious, check out “alibaba express” in your phone App Store. But straight from the manufacturer

For most, probably more "overkill" than "necessity"... But they do let that "guy with more money than most, who needs bragging rights" an edge around the campfire...
Yeah, Bill, I've got $3800 invested in lithium batteries and my solar panels and I can "dry camp until I run out of water" (usually 2 days until the holding tanks are full) So, the issue isn't running OUT of water, it's "relocating it to a different tank", and when that's full, DW is ready to move on......

For the way I camp, and I’m dry camping about half of the time, lithium isn’t worth the extra money. Lithium cost about $1000 for 100 amp hours and my flooded lead acid, dual 6v batteries, cost about $240 for 100 (usable) amp hours.
I can camp comfortably for several days without recharging my 6v batteries.
Lithium batteries are good, but they are too expensive. I would consider getting them if the price came way down.

I believe the price will come down and probably sooner than later. When I worked at GE Research and Development in the 80's and 90's there were a couple labs dedicated solely to battery research. At the time I wondered what all the fuss was about but they envisioned the coming solar and electric vehicle world. Battery advances in the last decade or so have eclipsed the previous thousand years.
