Capital grill swap to ???
We have the Capital grill and although it works fine we don't grill. The grill is dirty, it smells yummy to bears looking for a snack, and it isn't useful to us.
I've used the grill by putting a large pot on it and it works but a large amount of heat is wasted and the potential to burn/melt pot handles is there. I would have much preferred a stove or maybe a griddle.
It appears the 22" Blackstone griddle is almost the same exact size as the Capital and could be swapped. I believe the griddle would be more useful to us but the smell will still be there to attract wildlife.
Has anyone swapped the Capital grill for something else?

I have the Blackstone 22" for use at my home. It's too bulky to carry with us so use other things - plus it has a stand that would be awkward to situate under the bed cover.
I don't know if it would fit in place of the Capital grill, but if it would you can remove the griddle from the top and store it somewhere else (bed of the truck?). That would get the smell away from the immediate vicinity of the trailer.

At the big fall RV show in SE Michigan yesterday, I was shocked to see many of the new coaches with "Blackstone" type griddles mounted to sliding drawers in the outside kitchens. Maybe I'm overthinking this (probably not), but the last time I made bacon and burgers on my Blackstone, it splattered all around the table I had the griddle placed on. I wouldn't want any griddle (or BBQ for that matter) mounted on the exterior of the coach just for that reason. Took mine off the rear bumper after our first trip out. It's so much easier (cleaner) to have a "camp" table to place these messy appliances on....especially in bear country. YMMV.

Completely agree with Buster. Most Forest Service and National Parks out here have a "Bear Aware" policy that requires all grills be stored away when not being used. Add the mess factor too close to the RV walls, using a portable grill away from the Cougar made the best sense for us. We use a plastic tote to store our grill and simply slip it back into the cargo hold when we're not using it. We'll normally use the campsite picnic table to cook on but have a grill table we use when needed.

I should have included a picture of our outside kitchen with the Capital grill.
It is on drawer slides and permanently mounted.

I don’t know about permanently mounting but my 22” black stone with stand fits in the storage bag and in my pass thru storage.

Capital Grille Swap Solution
Swapped out my capital Grille with a Atwood 56458 2 burner stove. Removed the capital grille and then bought a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum plate cut to size of top of box. Cut out dimensions of the Atwood and attached plate with self tapping screws. dropped in the 2 burner and removed the regulator and hooked up the propane on quick disconnect.

I swapped our capital grill out for a 17 inch to allow room for a gas line. I made a frame out of aluminum angle and used the slides that were on the capital grill.

Just keep in mind those BS put out a tremendous amount of heat to surfaces adjacent the the cook top...ask me how I know...

I didn't discover the Blackstone in time but did swap out my Capital Grill for a 3-burner stove.
I found the existing slides wanting even for the stove top - which is much lighter than a Blackstone.
I swapped them out for these. Tbey are much beefier, and fit perfectly. It's been over a year and they are still working great.
