Look up Columbia Sun Rv Resort in Kennewick Washington, it's one of the few so called "resorts" we've stayed in that I would actually call a "resort". Very nice concrete or gravel sites, concrete patios, nice picnic tables that double as benches if needed, beautiful manicured grass between each site, nice dog park, kid's playground, beautiful pool, great laundry/shower facilities, great friendly staff & gift/grocery/rv supplies in the store.
It's the perfect example of what a resort should be!

I agree with everything said, but the store should have a stock of beers, wines and mixers. A liquor license might be a little much. (Joe, I'm surprised you missed this....)

Jim, I kind of hit both items. Most all of your US Walmarts have adult beverages.

Because enough adult beverages can make a bad campsite seem great

Resorts we stay at adult pools, Adult Swim up bars, lazy Rivers and lots of activities. late night movies excetera.
They might say Resort, but we check online to see what they have. Lots of them claim they are a Resort but nothing more than just a regular Campground

I"ll have to say I agree.

I do not subscribe to being up-charged for "resort fees". Be it hotels or RV campgrounds.

When doing reviews for Trip Adviser, and Campendium, I always comment and rate it as to is really a resort or just a campground.

To me a resort, should have not only a pool, and hot tub, but an on site restaurant, tiki bar, and entertainment on the weekends. And the restrooms, and office should be maned cleaned daily.

Otherwise it's not a resort but just another campground.

Site size, cleanliness, etc is used for the rating.. Smaller the site, or less clean the smaller the rating.

there is no standard. and you surely don't get what you pay for all of the time.

best way is to research the campground, or 'resort' before hand.:-)

Good lists/requirements. Too bad there's not a governing body to "enforce" standards.

I've appended Y/N to the lists indicating what the "resort" we stayed at offered.
