Dealer is blowing smoke. There are thousands of fiberglass boats that were built in the 60s and 70s that have been in direct sunlight all that time and have not come apart.
Standard fiberglass construction consists of a mold that is sprayed with a release agent, then sprayed with gelcoat, then layers of roving and also chopped mat shot onto it with a chopper gun. All of these layers are rolled with epoxy before the next layer is applied.
Fiberglass separates under two conditions. Either moisture got into the glass and wicked throughout and caused a condition called blistering, or the fiberglass layers simply separated because they were layed up dry(not enough epoxy). Resin based epoxies, notably Gougeon Bros, AKA West System, have been used for fiberglass construction since the beginning, so if the dealer is saying there was a problem with the "resin", it's because it wasn't mixed properly, or the surface wasn't properly cleaned.
Don't you just despise dealers and service writers who think we are stupid?
