We did our dues tent camping when first married, now in retirement we go RV'ing and have no intention if ever camping again.

I may be a "little late to the table".... however if your "electric element" has already brought your water up to temperature, your propane side will not fire up! Nothing wrong with the propane side... it just is not needed at this point.

Have you gotten your problem resolved???

Be18driver, if your rig is brand new, make sure that you go out to your water heater panel on the side of your rig, open the panel and on the lower left hand side of your panel is an electric water heater switch, make sure you toggle to "on" to run the electric option on your water heater. And yes, as noted above by many, running both gas and electric together will greatly improve your recovery time. Cheers.
