Fuzion 427

Wife and I ordered a new Fusion 427 toy hauler yesterday, can't wait for it to get here. Anyone have this model yet? Anything you like or dislike?

I have a 2016 325, CampingWorld has been my biggest problem
Slide kept tearing off window seals. took a year but I beat'em down til they just wanted to get rid of me. So they fixed it. 13' 1" height scares me when the trees are wet. Would prefer a lighter colored interior, and one day I'll take the time to remedy that. But right now I'm camping and love it. Mine has a sliding glass door, something thats rare. Needed it for the 14' kayaks. Won't hear my 30 yr old kids complain when they come along with the grandkids, me either. I hear stories of gas gone bad, so I use the toy tank for mowing & snow removal. Pump the generator tank into the toy tank once a year, to keep it fresh. use a small electric heater in the garage, and with the fireplace, hardly need the furnace at 15*. Enjoy !!!

I have the 427 and love it. The only issue so far was the battery box. It holds two batteries but the way they have the door you can't get them in. Had to remove the battery door frame to get the batteries in, a lot of removing silicone to get the door out. Also the jacks are pretty close to the ground, makes it hard to boondock. The antenna booster is on by default so that is a battery drain.

We have a 427 also and haven't camped in it yet but it seems very nice. I have it back at the dealer for a decal coming off, a lock that doesn't turn, leaking hydraulic leveler and reclining seat on one side came loose and needs to be secured to floor better. Guess once we use it for our first week long trip in June will be true test.

Why do you think booster is on by default...can you not find it? Ours wasn't even close to a tv in the M bedroom.

Because I found it and it was on. It was in a cabinet above the bed on the closet side of the master bedroom. Interesting how they all seem to be in different places for the same model year. After turning all the un-needed electronics off I have no drain. Battery was still at 12.9 two days without shore power. The generator doesn't power on when mine is below 11 volts, that could be a problem but now I have 370 AH at 20 hours.

Oh ok. Ours is right above my pillow in the ceiling so I can lay there and look at the red light when its on...lol! Looked all around for it thinking well, we must not have a booster, then went bed and found it. Odd place for it for sure!

Wonderful, my Fuzion has been at the dealer for over a week and this booster is probably on? I'll have a dead battery whenever they get it fixed.

Could you elaborate on what you turned off or changed to get rid of all the parasitic battery drain?

Only sure way to disconnect is to remove a battery cable, I remove the final ground cable, no more dead batteries.

thanks, but that's not what I was asking. The battery disconnect on our trailer actually works pretty good, but I took thiswebs4u's comment to mean that he had discovered ways to drastically improve battery drain when actually using the trailer (battery connected) but not actively using anything that draws juice (like lights, water pump, stereo, etc.). Perhaps I misunderstood what he was saying.

In my 4141 i couldn't figure out why my batteries were dead every time I went to the storage and come to find out the battery disconnect wasn't wired correctly. There was still stuff that had power which was draining mine. Dealer corrected wiring and now it works great. Something to check out.

Turned off the antenna booster, that helped a lot. Didn't try the disconnect, it is by the water heater. I did put new batteries in so that will throw off my test. Someone mention to put a switch on the Jensen stereo system. That will save you 1/2 amp. I don't have the refrig on.

I am putting solar in. 6 270 watt panels so won't have to worry about the drain anymore. I will put 3 for the front battery. And I will put batteries in the garage area. Anyone do this? That way the weight will not all be on the front.

Thanks. I always keep the antenna booster off unless we're actually watching OTA tv. Just installed a switchable Cllena 12v/USB "utility" panel that includes a voltmeter so now I can more accurately track battery drain. should be interesting.
