Signal and brake lights working intermittently.
We just purchased a fairly new 2018 24rbs xlite cougar Tt. Coming home we had signal lights and brake lights. Our next trip one week later truck indicated that right signal light was not working. Tapped on it and it started working then shortly after it stopped again. Any thoughts seems like the seal should last longer than 10 months.

Take the lens off and see if the bulb is loose it the socket. After that could be a ground issue somewhere. Where? start at the back side of the light mount. If you do not have any get the electric grease called die electric grease? at any auto RV store put it on the connection points of the truck/trailer plug. Reapply yearly. That alone will save a lot of problems.

I also use die-electric grease on all light bulb bases, especially the 921 plug-in base type. RV clearance lights have a long history of "slight water penetration" which leads to corrosion at the bulb socket. Die-electric grease applied to the bulb base almost always stops that corrosion "dead in its tracks"....

Good point John, I started doing that last time I replaced a bulb in a car taillight. All bulbs replaced and greased. I also do that with wire connections inside the boat wires before sealing them.

Another old school "in the field" fix for bayonette base (1156, 1157 etc,,,) bulbs was to use the zipper on your pants to scuff the dirty contacts.
Of course if there is dielectric grease present, probably not a good idea. LOL!
Good Luck,

Totally agree with using dielectric grease on any automotive type electrical connections that may be exposed to the weather i.e. moisture.
Worked on plow trucks and sanders for DOT in Northwestern Ontario. Let me tell you the US rust belt has nothing on the stuff we dealt with on those rigs. We would draw a 5# tin of dielectric grease from stores and keep in handy. No grease no lights. It works! JMO

Another proponent for dielectric grease here. Started using the stuff many years ago on the light bulb socket on a boat trailer. The elcheapo light fixtures on most rvs are not moister proof much less water tight. With the heat produced by incandescent lamps you can get condensation inside the fixture. A telltale sign is the discoloration of the socket. The copper will turn green and eventually can accumulate a white crust.
