New TV, Dealer said it would be OK

But it got a little squirrelly coming down Monarch Pass.

But the dealer assured me it would be OK

Not sure if this will work.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3o...ew?usp=sharing

If it doesn't, it's a triple axle Airstream being towed by a Buick Enclave. Pulled in next to me at a campground and I managed to get a clip of them leaving.

They had a Hesnsley so all was okay.......

The weight of the Hensley alone was probably more than that things rated carrying capacity.

Wow, That's all I can say.

I bet both the Buick dealer and the Airstream dealer told them it would be fine.

Would not want to be in front of them coming down Red Mountain pass here in Colorado.

Maybe I will try out the '98 Subaru for real.

You see a lot of things on the road but holy moly batman!!! So many things wrong with that....and the woman got in that Enclave willingly!! I would have had to be drugged or drug to be put in there. But then, I guess one needs a sense of adventure??

OMG!
I can’t believe my eyes, that is crazy stupid, even with a Hensley!

He needed her for ballast, the front end was a little light. Like the dealer said, "Why do you think they call it a tow package? Trust me!"

Tongue weight should be OK if he runs with empty propane tanks and 1 group 24 starter battery.

If they tow that combo from OKC west towards Flagstaff in the spring & run into some of those notorious crosswords that BIG shiny Airstream will end up in a ditch & look like that Buick towing a BIG ball of aluminum foil.
Makes you wonder "WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING!".

WOW! I'll bet your jaw is sore from hitting the ground! I have to say that Airstream is the most perfectly balanced TT I've ever seen. I'm no engineer, but with centered triple axles it would seem the only weight pushing the tongue onto the hitch ball would be H2O in the fresh water tank -- assuming it's located up front. Makes you wonder what the conversation with their insurance carrier will be like when the inevitable happens.

airstream excella 34 hitch weight

Supposedly, according to Airstream R US, the hitch weight of a 34' Airstream Excella is 800 pounds delivered. Weight of the RV is in the neighborhood of 7400 pounds. As long as the owner only tows that RV with that Buick from the back 40 to the front driveway, with no breeze and no bumps, what could go wrong?

Funny this is here. My wife’s uncle winters down south somewhere and tows a rather large pontoon boat behind a Subaru just like that outback. We scratched our heads first time we saw it.

Subaru’s are great for towing.

My 2009 Forester tows my 2017 Bullet 243BHS just fine . It might pull it better than your Outback! I’ll try to find some pics of it for you.

Its a shame that a dealer will tell you anything to make a sale. How do they sleep at night knowing that someone might get hurt or worse selling them something that is totally not ok to tow with the vehicle they have. Ive seen Huge 5ths being towed by 150/1500s and 250/2500s. Its just jaw dropping at times.

And I was worried about my Ram towing our Outback Light Weight. Proof God watches over fools and drunks.
