Ceiling Vents

Even though I have Maxx covers over my ceiling vents, crud still gets into the screens. Is there a way to remove the screens from inside for cleaning?

The screens in my Cougar have little barb fingers, and can be removed if you press the entire screen to one side gently and pop the barb on the other side, then walk a spudger stick around. In fact, I had to seat all of my screens when I got the new rig home from the dealer, because none of them were 100% seated.

Of the thousands of dollars in tools in my garage, kiss my grits if I have a 'spudger stick.' Maybe I do and it was included with my Lincoln welder....
What might this be?

A gentle, pencil-sized, non-marring, non-static plastic poke, snag, and pry tool, common in the electronic/computer repair trade.

Best of all, you can add it to your thousands of dollars of tools for something like 60˘!

Thanks to you and then, of course, my 14-year old grandson who then asked me "How else would you get your new battery changed in your cell phone?" My idea of computer repair is to curse at it loudly and then reboot. Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch. I will go get one of those tools and get the job done.

Usually removing the crank handle ( Philips screw) and trim ring will drop the screen for cleaning. No special tools needed. You can also cheat and use the exhaust from a vacuum to blow out the debris from whence it came.
Back in the low tech days of tubes and pots we called them "Diddle Sticks".

You and I must have attended the same computer repair school.

To be honest, you can do the same job with a long, skinny screwdriver. I just have a bad record when forcing plastic parts with metal tools.

And yes, we still call them diddle sticks, but they're harder to Google that way.
