Spare tire cover

Our "Keystone" branded spare tire cover apparently took flight on the very last leg (Tucson to Phoenix) of our inaugural cross-county trip to Tampa. (Ironic, since I snugged it up only about three times during the trip, the last time being in Tucson right before it departed.) I was planning to augment it with some rear cross-straps and clips once I got back home, but never got the chance. :-(

The OEM tire cover had a rim of what you could only charitably call elastic, nearly none of which actually extended beyond the inside edge of the tread anyway. Being a belt-and-suspenders guy, I would prefer a cover that curled at least 3" down the back sidewall of the tire, and came with a cinch tie to boot.

Does anybody have a favorite source or brand?

Ours was the same; barely went over the edges and the elastic....well, that's being very generous. Ours, like yours, departed somewhere "out there" while traveling not long after we bought the trailer.

I replaced mine with a black BesTop which was of much higher quality. I use that brand a lot for various products to put on my Jeep. Something was brought up earlier in another thread about the black cover contributing to the early deterioration of the spare due to heat. I am switching to a lighter color since I have a new spare that's never seen the light of day and don't want to ruin it. Just something to think about.
