My New Laredo
Going on our 1st trip tomorrow. I know it’s hard to tell from a picture but would airbags be a good investment for my truck? I have a little bit of a sag in the back. And if so, any recommendations on a good brand

They would level the truck for sure... But I'd run it over a CAT scale after I had it loaded for travel before I made the investment..

I would think you would be fine without the addition of air bags. There is nothing in the Laredo Superlight line-up that would overload any of the 3 numbers. I pull a 325RL with a 2500 CTD with absolutely no issues, except for all the pesky comments that will follow. I do have air bags inflated to 15 to 20psi. Love the combo, truck and 5th wheel, living as snowbirds in sunny Florida.

With the Hemi and the Super-Lite I doubt your over on any of your #'s. This winter I am going to bag our CTD Ram 2500 with the linked kit for shiats and giggles. You tube video sure looks like it was a well thought out
kit.

Airbags would probably work for the sag.....but, what trailer is that?? Looks like you're pulling with a 5.7?? Help us out.

Having finally found some info on the superlight 5th wheels it looks like they come in at about 10k. Probably within the specs, maybe, of the truck, but, at 10k, with a 5.7 you don't have a good towing engine for that trailer....been there, done that. Hopefully you at least have a 3.92 or 4.10.

Uh oh. Pesky comments? Maybe just curious.
A 13k 5th wheel; possible pin weight of 2600+; on a diesel 3/4 ton. Just wonderin........

I used the airlift 5000 on my dually more to get it up a little to help so headlights aren't blinding people when towing. Usually run about #25 in them...does help it ride smoother as well. The 5000s have the center jounce thing in them so you can run them with no air and not hurt the bags.

I am having the air lift 5000s and air compressor installed next week. The truck is tbe 5.7, have no problem towing it. I don’t like driving in the city, seems to be a lot of bouncing or chucking(whatever they call it). Dumb question of the day, if the GVWR of the trailer is 10k and the cargo capacity is 1800lbs, does that mean the trailer is 8200lbs?

285sbh. Amazed at the lack of movement from walking around vs travel trailer. It’s has the auto leveling and I bought a tripod stand for the hitch, really impressed

You must have a newer version of the 5000’s. Mine don’t have any internal piece and I have inline solenoids that keep 10 psi in the bags.

Tripod hitch thing really works? I've considered that I see a lot of them at the parks. Nice Laredo!

Thank you! Yes it works for me. I’m sure having the trailer completely level helps the most though

If you have the 6 point hydraulic auto level there isn’t really any need for the king pin stabilizer.

IRV2,it's the Cougar 28RBSWE. Y'all remember, OP is living in Florida. Brenda and I thought we saw a hill in Florida about a year ago, but it was just an old landfill. He'll do fine in Florida.
One other small thing. The word "pesky." I thought we had agreed that "snarky" was the word of the day.....I like snarky.

Hello, we are looking to purchase a 285SBH this month. Any recomendations for dealer upgrades / updates? Anything to look out for?
We are moving from a 36' TT for better towing, and it's good to hear that the unit is stable when doc'd, our TT moved quite a bit when someone would walk around in it.
Only thing I see is that they hooked the TV up with a RWY cable instead of a HDMI cable. Thanks for the feedback.

We didn’t do any dealer upgrades on ours. One thing that you need to check is the labeling on the utility convenience center. Our tanks were mislabeled and can be a little confusing until you figure out they are mislabeled... We just took a long trip to Disney last month and she is still holding up strong. Kids love the huge bunks. We did replace the sleeper sofa with a reclining loveseat. Not sure if you’ve seen all the storage it has. The back has a storage door that has huge storage underneath the bottom bunk in the bunk room.

X2 with Frank G!
Carry / Pull a 2005 Copper Canyon 293FWSLS with our 2001 2500, without issue. We don’t need or run bags as we have tow and camper packages.
