You can probably install a block spacer between the top of the base and the tabletop to increase the overall height. As for moving the table to the wall, remember that when towing the tabletop will move, bounce or vibrate. If the tabletop is touching the wall (or in close proximity and hits the wall) it will scrape/scratch the two surfaces and may damage the wall covering or the edge of the table over time. If it's like our dinette, the tabletop sits about 2" from the window, if I move it over closer to the window, tow and hit a bump, I may find myself looking for replacement glass at the next campground.
Think it through completely before moving the table closer to the wall..... YMMV
