In Command

Anybody having In Command problems. My 2019 Cougar 28sgs has this system. It works from the pad mounted on the wall. I paired it with my iPhone and things worked fine. Now I’m not able to control the awning, the tank reading isn’t correct, etc when using my phone. Is there a way to reset this? Any help is appreciated

Make sure you downloaded the right app. I had a similar issue while doing my PDI and the sale person had no clue what was wrong, turns out I downloaded the wrong version.

I have the correct app. Everything worked at one time.

I don't suppose you are trying to check it too far away and it's bluetooth? Also sometimes when using bluetooth (and I am assuming it's bluetooth) they don't always reconnect well after you lose the signal.

Another possibility is if you have done an update on your phone you made need to unpair and then repair your phone to it.

^^This! I know you mentioned that everything worked at one time, but after we got our 2019 Cougar 29BHS with In Command, I downloaded the first app in the Play store and it "kinda" worked, but not like it was supposed to. The next morning, I downloaded the second app in the list to my wife's phone and it worked perfectly! Also, as someone else mentioned, Bluetooth connectivity plays a part. Our main phones are Galaxy S8+. But, we have a pre-paid Verizon J1 for times that we might not have the best service. I downloaded the app onto that phone and it doesn't work nearly as well with the Bluetooth connection. The awning will stop and start. The slide will stop and start. When we go back to our regular phones, everything works fine.

I'm new to iN-Command. In the documentation, it says how to sync the floor plan, but not when you should do it and why. Is this documented somewhere?

I don't recall where I saw it, but you have to sync your floorplan. But, it should only have to be done once since your floorplan doesn't change.

I did it right after I paired my device with the rig. They don't dictate this so-to-speak in the manual, but it is in the instructions post initial pairing of a device.
The "why" is because the app is built to support any installation. Some rigs may have 4 slides. Mine only has two... So by syncing the floorplan, my app now mirrors the specifics of my rig. Hope that helps!

The the synching is to sync the trailer's hardware/firmware (whatever) with the mobile app? So I should do this each time I perform the initial pairing of a mobile device to the trailer?

Thanks!

For some reason, I thought it had to do with a synchronization between the DC (display commander) and the BCM (body control module).

When you pair a device, the sync will bring your specific floorplan to the application so that it reflects your specifics (i.e. 1 grey water tank or 2, 2 slides or 3, etc...). You would do this for each device paired, as a part of that pairing process if I am making sense.

There is nothing you need to do re: the DC and the BCM.

On a side note there are some recent firmware updates available (at least for mine which is the Global Connect version) here https://in-command.net/ There is no explanation of what the updates do but I did update my DC and BCM. Simply download the updates on a thumb drive, plug it into the bottom of the DC and go to the software update on the DC.

No option to sync to the floor plan on the I-phone app for in-command. If there is tell me where to find it.

The manual says press the Floor Plan button in the settings page, and then tap on DC Sync. This is for the NCSP35, which is what my trailer comes with. Perhaps yours is different.

They just recently redid their app with upgrades. I found out a couple weeks ago when my app wouldn't open so I deleted it from my phone and then couldn't find it to reload. I called and they told me they had been having some issues and had taken the app down to make some upgrades/improvements so If someone is having issues now, I'm thinking they need to delete the orig app and download the upgraded version which should be the one you'll find online now.

Just on a side note, they sent me a link to the app which they said should operate most everything and it did. Then within the last week I noticed I had an upgrade to my in command app available for my phone which auto downloaded it. Seems to work ok but I never had issues with the former app either. Mine isn't the Global in command either.

In command trouble.

We have a 2016 Keystone Outback with In command tablet and many more problems with the shabby build of our RV. It worked for the first 3-4 months and then all at once we started having trouble with the tanks registering, awning retraction, slides would not come in, outside lights would not work, I could go on We purchased a 7 year insurance plan just for this type of thing. We complained with the dealer we bought it at and they sent a workman out and told us that it needed an update, but that was in another truck. We started rebooting the whole system, shut off the battery disconnect switch and unplug the unit for a few seconds. Plug it back in and it would fix it enough to be used for a bit until it just kept happening and I found myself inside the passthrough storage messing with the panel in there. you should be able to close your slides and awning etc from the panel.
All of this and almost 3 yrs later, I finally blew my top and filed a claim with the BBB and they gave the RV store a deadline to fix the problem, They replaced the whole system, tablet and all. Good Luck and don't give up
