Next time I'm at the dealership, I'll get a brand on the hook he had, but it won't be this week, too much to do to get ready for "deep snow".....
Thanks, I thought I posted these pictures before, but I don't see them now.

This is Keystone factory chain hook (5/16" Clevis).

This is the 3/8" hook from Big R (3/8" Clevis).

Neither will latch. The 3/8" would also not rotate in the small holes. The 3/8" hooks only fit after removing metal from the outside and the latch/clip.

have you tried putting the hook on starting at the bottom instead of the top and then rotate the hook through the hole

If I understand what you are asking . . . All the hooks have to start from underneath with the chain towards the side of the truck. You rotate the hook moving the chain towards the trailer to get it in.

As a side note; My Fastway Zip breakaway brake cable D ring won't fit either. I found this one at Tractor Supply Co. This one works, if anyone else ends up looking for one.

It looks to me like the metal at the bottom of the hole is smaller than the sides so it might fit going from the bottom instead of the side. The right way to do it is any way it'll work. Your breakaway cable should be attached somewhere other than the hitch
