Carbon 377 Water Pump

We have a 2017 Carbon. We put fresh water in the tank for the first time today. The water heater filled by itself. When we turn on the water pump it does not shut off. It should run "on demand". I.e.when you open the faucet. Any help is appreciated.

Did you switch the fill/flow valve back after filling the tank?
