I guess it is time to start planning my upgrades and plans for next summer.
I would think you could build your own metal building and be money ahead at that rate.

I guess it is supply and demand and I prefer to keep it indoors through the winter.
The storage is actually in what counts as our back yard and the picture was taken during our "brutal" Texas winter

I think people around here are paying more than what you are paying, depending on length, around here for outside storage.

Check to see if it is in the floodplain. this photo of RV Storage is one of a much more devastating 6 plus inch monsoon rainstorm in Amado, Southern Arizona. Most of the many more RVs stored here were destroyed on September 2, 2018.
Our 5er was in that Amado flood too. Thankful we had insurance that paid well, since ours was a total loss, as were most others.

We just came back from a week in the Thumb of Michigan. Our favorite place to go in the Fall. It was much cooler and a lot of wind. We were very surprised at the number of people that pulled in just for the weekend. We were by ourselves from Sunday afternoon till Thursday night then about 20 other campers came in. Ours is getting cleaned and winterized this weekend. It is easy for us because we can store in our backyard, so we can access it anytime we need too.

Unfortunately we have a lot in the city and there is no room for me to do so. Otherwise I agree building my own would be the way to go. Based on what I am hearing on here I feel a little better about what I am paying. It is what it is, we don't RV for the cost savings.

Why are all you people putting your trailers away???
We sold our popup trailer to get a real trailer so we can camp at any time, sunny or rain.

We took ours to the indoor storage building yesterday. The rate is $1.70 a foot per month with 3 months paid up front. We are only 25 feet long so $127.50 for the first 3 months.

Just made reservations at Lake Whitney SP for week of Nov. 12, will winterize after this little trip and park it until day after Christmas when we take our semi-annual trip to Maryland to visit relatives. When we get back from that trip will winterize again and let it sit until around the last week of Feb.

Hope you have a blast. My son just moved from Lewisville to Whitney and I gave him a "new" bass boat so he could enjoy the lake and he has made the most of it. If the SP is full there is another RV park just up the road that I had to use once - nice but not really spiffy - RV spaces between fixed units on both sides of both roads. All in all, OK for a sleepover for a few days - can't remember the name but you can google it.

We took our last trip a couple of weeks ago. Weather is turning here in Iowa, so I finally got around to winterizing. I'll pull it 10 miles to an old family friend to park in his machine shed. Just have to make sure I get it in before the combine gets done in the field. Costs me $150 for the winter.

Texas State Parks contacted me a couple of days after I made the reservation... Whitney SP closed until at least Nov. 15 and maybe beyond due to flooding. So plan B in effect ... going to Navarro Mills Oak Park instead. Cheaper anyway, get full hookups (30A) for $10 a night with senior pass (ACE park)

Great Day

Great thing about living on the Gulf Coast is camping year round. Leaving Lafayette, LA to spent the week of Thanksgiving in Ocean Springs, MS. No forecast for any temps under 40 degrees. Plan to cook turkey outside. Miss snow but can go visit if I want to see it.

Tboudro, we don't mind you bragging about the weather. We'll be in south Florida soon enough. But if you start in on having gumbo and crawfish etouffee and the like, well, we're coming down there after you!
