I don't have Timbrens, but I have Sumo springs, which are a direct competitor. I love them. They keep the truck very level while towing our 5th wheel. When not loaded the sumos are typically not activated. When they are activated there is no slamming. They just absorb like a shock.

I've been studying up on Timbrens and the Sumo "springs". The Timbrens main complaint that I have found is harsh riding due to the hard rubber spring pounding on the axle with light weights in the truck. They have spacer plates so that may or may not have been the issue with the complaints. I have not read those complaints about the Sumo's. I just read a review of the Sumo's in Trailer Life (Aug. 2018) and they were very impressed with them. My initial decision was to purchase the Sumo's over the Timbren's, but, I just put on Bilstein 5100's and I don't really have an issue with weight or towing, and I'll be buying a new truck in the near future so decided to put that piece of the puzzle on the back burner and wait for a new 1 ton.
