SAGEBEL: That's one heck of a flagpole you've got on your trailer. Where'd you get it and how is it attached?

Looks like Valdez Alaska, by the small boat harbor. What a beautiful town.

It is 3 pieces of aluminum tubing each 10' long that fit inside one another. I bought the tubing from the local welding supply store. I welded a piece of steal tubing to my spare tire carrier that the bottom pole would fit into. I also have a removeable pulley at the top so that I can take the flag down at night without having to deal with the long pole. I drilled a bunch of holes in the pole so that it is adjustable. I am currently looking for a suitable light so that I don't have to take the flag down every night although it is proving to be a good lesson for the kids when we fold the flag every night.

Glad to hear you will light the flag before you fly it after dark. That is one of my very few pet peeves.

My 7 year old daughter will ask me why people fly their flags after dark... generally as we are walking past thier campsite.

I am going to try a couple potential lighting options this weekend.
