Rear bumper

Has anyone added a rear bumper with receiver hitch to your keystone fifth wheel? We have a 2018 Keystone Alpine 3500RL. They have no rear bumper and just a 1.25 inch receiver for a bike rack. I'm needing a cargo carrier to haul my pellet grill when traveling.
Thanks
Whoops, guess I better update my profile too.

Hi,

I haven't added a bumper/hitch, but on an older TT I use to have, I had a hitch shop weld on a class III hitch to the rear of the TT.

I seen on ebay that someone had a bolt on 5th wheel receiver/hitch. From the pic it looked like brackets were formed to fit the I-beam and were adjustable in width. When I put a bumper on my last hauler I cut some sq tubing to fit in the ends of the hitch tube, made a 90 degree with them on each end and sat bumper on top of part that stuck out the back and welded it. The bumper is going to be farther back than the hitch but you can purchase a extended hitch to get out past the bumper.

Ruffus, did you ever add the bumper? We have a 2012 Alpine, that we love, but wish it had a rear bumper for a bike rack.

Rufus was last active on the forum last August. You may want to start a new thread to ask your question.

Greetings
I removed the sliding bumper and replaced it with a fixed extremely stout 8x2” steel bumper that has a tray for the genny, a solid spare tire carrier, D rings, and a 2” receiver with anti wobble jam bolts. The 8x2 is affixed to (2) 2” square tubing runs 5’ long and welded full length to the I beam frame. It’s a beast of a bumper. You can view that and much more on my blog. Checkmybuild.com
