Portable air compressor for 110 psi tires?

The tires on my Alpine require 110 psi. I’m having a hard time finding a small reliable compressor that I can use to keep them properly inflated. I had a small 25 yr old one that finally blew an internal seal. The pancake compressor I have only goes to 100. I’d like to carry it with us so I don’t want something real heavy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good reliable portable compressor?

I've had this one for several years & works great! Not heavy & pumps to 150 psi. It will run nail guns, staplers, but not enough volume to run an impact.

Tbos, Howdy;

Have had very good experience with this;
https://www.dewalt.com/en-us/product...pressor/d55140
fitts nicely into the front storage of my 5th wheel. Just takes
a while as it's only a 1 gal tank. I can do the pick-up tires to 80psi
and the trailer tires all in about 30 minutes or so ... plugs into
the exterior receptacle and with a 50' hose reaches every tire I have.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like it might fit the bill.

I did as you and asked around and was recommeneded to by
Viair 40047 400P-RV Automatic Portable Compressor Kit, Certainly no low priced but very , very nice for filling RV tires and not breaking your back. You can get same compressor without RV accessories which is cheaper but not as nice to use (in my opinion). I am very happy with mine.

We purchased this DeWalt booster/Air compressor that goes up to 120psi. We have had great success with it and I cannot tell you how many people we have boosted with this and then ensure our pressures are where they are suppose to be. Great unit that is light durable and practical. It also has two USB charging ports which is good for a quick charge when there is no power around.

Here is a link to where I bought it.

We also have the same unit as T Texans has; about six years now. Never a problem. If you are planning on airing anything up in the 80PSI or greater then avoid the charger pack/compressor type unit. You might air up one flat tire, but it would be hot as a firecracker and take you about 45 minutes.

I have a Vivair and it is hotter than a machine gun after 2 tires. Going to look at a compressor tonight. Timely thread.

I used to use a Porter Cable 6 gal. pancake, then went to the 3 gal. pancake. Then....I went to this; https://www.lowes.com/pd/Fini-1-2-Ga...essor/50385522

Small, light and compact. Very user friendly and has served us well. My tires are all 80psi and it airs them up just fine. For a completely flat tire I would worry about it. I use it to top the truck and trailer tires off plus airing up the rear tires of the truck when it's time to leave. I lower them to 65psi when on location and back up to 80psi to leave/tow. It fills the 15psi just about as fast as the pancakes. I also carry a Viair 400 for use when there is no AC. It performs well also.

I use this, but I don't have quite the pressure requirement you do. It did let me buy new set of cordless tools, also . . . .

I bought the DeWalt 6 gallon pancake and carry it with me when travelling. It goes up to 165 psi.

As long as we are all weighing in, here is my preference - it is light and compact. It usually can be found for about $100:

The original post was looking for something that could maintain tire pressure to 110psi. the DEWALT unit can do that. I agree it would take a while to bring a tire from empty up to 80psi but at that point I would just put my spare on. As far as maintaining this unit works great and only takes a few minutes to bring a tire up as much as 20psi.

Just my experience owning one for the last couple of years. You definitely have to buy a good quality one though and avoid the cheap stuff.

I have the same compressor as sourdough. I chose it because of the compact size (about 15"x20"x8") and the 1.8SCFM at 90 PSI rating. That's almost twice as much volume of compressed air as most 6 gallon pancake compressors. My tires are rated at 80PSI, so I haven't used the compressor to air up LRG (110PSI) tires, however it's rated at 135 PSI, so if the ratings are accurate, it should top them off faster than compressors twice the size and 3 times the price. Additionally, it fits in an old "laptop computer satchel" for protection and storage.

YMMV but I'd look at Lowe's for the FINI compressor. You can also see it on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/Fini-AB1PAK-1...ini+compressor

I’ve had the same porter cable 150 psi for 4 years. Got on sale for $79. Airs tires to 110 quickly. Light weight and stows nicely in front compartment

Same model I have had for around 10 years. Use it for household projects and filling tires if needed.

John, if I remember correctly, my De Walt is rated at around 2 cfm also

CORRECTION.......2.6 scfm @ 90 psi

Yes it is. The issue I was facing was the need for a small compressor that would fit in the available space and still provide enough volume to be usable for inflating (topping off) tires at 80PSI. I have a 6 gal pancake, but if I put it in the front storage, I'd have to take out either the lawn chairs or the grill or possibly the screen house ??? Nah, I'd have to make a trip back home if I forgot those three things, which is why I was looking for a small, reliable compressor with a usable SCFM rating... YMMV.

My pancakes deliver a higher cfm as well but are larger, much more bulky and take up too much space. That's why I wanted to carry something different.

You would just have to handle the fini and use it to really appreciate the amount of air it puts out from such a small, compact size. And it is built so that it can be stored/transported nicely instead of just in the way as a pancake is. We had a spare small sports bag that it went right into with the hose, adapters and gauges like it was made for it. It has really worked for us but that is JMO.
