Just bought a new 2019 291 SMK Laredo and can not find bug screens for the two refrigerator?
They seem to be different from the standard ones!

Do you mean bug screens for the side wall ventilation louvers? They make them, word has it they will void your refrigeration warrantee. I used them for a while then removed them, cooling improved. Hope the red wasps don't show up, hate to see if the DW has a allergic reaction to them.

Used them from day 1 on the last 2 5ers both top & bottom access covers with no issues with the fridge, water heater or furnace.

That's the first item I buy when I get a new camper - insect screens for the water heater, furnace, and refrigerator vents. I've been doing it for more years than I care to remember, and have never had a problem. I have, however, seen the damage done by insects (e.g., wasps) when they settle in, so it's a no-brainer for me.

In a previous post on this subject it was mentioned that insect scenes would void the refrigerator warranty. Also that insect screens are unnecessary since there is really nothing bees or bugs could do that would affect the operation of the frig. You might just want to put flea collars in the openings, at least until the warranty is up.

I installed insect screens in my Frig vents before reading the prior post. I did have two mud dobber tubes in the vents, but nothing affecting the frig. I may remove the insect screens and go beck to flea collars.

The two rear refrigerator only have a vent on the bottom of the two.
Would like to know where I could buy bug screens? Because they are made different from regular refrigerators.

We use the camper about 90 nights a year if not more, when in storage I block all the vents with plastic.

While camping the chances of getting bugs in the vents is pretty nil, especially when we travel from site to site a lot. Plus when camping it's easy to keep an eye out for flying insects swarming around the openings.

The fly in the ointment for my system is you better make sure you take the plastic off before turning on appliances.
