Anyone seen my dogbone?

I have a 15 amp male to 50 amp female dogbone for when we're packing or unpacking here at home and don't need A/C, just lights. This morning the dogbone has vanished. I have never used it on the road, it's never left the tool compartment except here at home. Today, it's gone walk-about! If I made a list of the miscellaneous stuff that's vanished just after I put it in a safe place, I'd be very upset.

Have you seen my dogbone?

LOL. Same here. I've found lots of safe places for things over the years but I have no idea where those places, or things, are. I'd try to make a list but I would forget that too....

I'm somewhat laughing as the same thing happened to me (and yet to find it). I had to convert from 15A to 30A and then another 30A to 50A to get the desired connection.

Totally understand! I'm currently looking for a roll of brown box-wrapping paper I've put somewhere (in the house) so I'd never forget where I put it! It's almost 3 feet long with about 200 feet of brown paper wrapped on it. You'd think as big as the thing is, it would be easy to find! Nope! Been looking for days now. It hasn't turned up yet! So much for, putting it somewhere I'd never forget where it is! Yea! Right!

Sorry, don't know where it is. I would have responded sooner, but I could not find my computer. I was sure I know where I left it...

I'm holding off for the moment because that's EXACTLY what usually happens.

Mine's a four-foot, bright yellow level. You wouldn't think you could misplace something that loud!

Same thing happened to me with my water pressure regulator...
I know it has its own special storage spot, but wasn't there when I went to look for it.. I was sure I put it away properly!!

Seems to be happening more and more often these days!!

Right now I'm trying to remember what I just forgot..

Best of luck, Safe travels and all the best.

Last year we had a one night stop over to attend a friends funeral that happen to be on our "start day" for a long trip. The next day we wanted to get on the road and at the last minute I could find the regulator. A long term camper (older woman) was watching me almost pulling out my hair as I knew I had it 30 minutes earlier. She came over and helped for a bit and then went back to her trailer telling me she was going to start praying to St. Anthony. 10 minutes later I found it as it must have fallen out of a milkcrate that I was loading and into some flower bed next to the truck!

I just happened to find my 15A->50A dogbone yesterday buried under some building materials in our shed that were delivered and partially used earlier this year!

So its not just me, apparently as we get older we become magicians with the ability to make things disappear, the only issue is that its unintentional and we have no idea where we hid the object, tool, etc. Including in plain sight!

Honey, have you seen the golden rivet, the last I had it it was covered in blue steam, right next to the bucket of propwash.....

We moved into our current home 24 yrs ago. Old house did not have a garage so everything was stored in the shed. New home has 2 car garage. I was amazed at how many duplicates or even triplicate tools I had. If I couldn't find my soldering iron I'd just by another one.

So in the new garage I installed work benches with cabinets under them, wall cabinets, and two large rollaround tool cabinets. Somehow, the contents of that shed filled the storage space of the new garage but at least it's organized. Wood working tools in one area, electrical, plumbing, and mechanics tools all stored in their own tool chests. Now, if only I could remember where the light switch is ........

“ I was amazed at how many duplicates or even triplicate tools I had. ”
Damn, this statement hit home! How does an old man accumulate five or six battery chargers?

Well, I only have two battery chargers, but I do have 3 basin wrenches!
