2019 Passport battery dead

Our 2019 passport trailer when we’re not using it for say 4 or 5 days come back to it and the battery is dead.

What piece of electronics inside this trailer is killing my battery

Fridge is off, there is no battery disconnect switch.

You have several "phantom drains" on your battery system. First is the thermostat (if it is left on). Along with that, you also have the LPG detector, the memory/night light for the stereo, the booster amp for the television (little button on the amplifier that's either green or red), any lights that might be inside a cabinet or storage area that might have been missed, the remote control receiver (if you have a remote control) and possibly the smoke detector and CO detector. The last two are often independently powered by internal batteries, but some models are connected to the trailer battery.

Typically, a GP24 or a GP27 battery will last 4 or 5 days in storage before it is depleted below the safe charge level. If your battery has a history of being "repeatedly discharged to dead" multiple times, you may find that it won't hold a charge or provide the same power as it has in the past. In other words, letting it discharge to "dead multiple times" may have destroyed your battery.

If you don't have a battery cutoff switch, you might want to consider installing one. In the interim, you can prevent battery discharge by disconnecting the battery terminals when the trailer is in storage.

My CO sensor module will kill a battery with nothing else connected in about a week. I think if would be best to find the fuse for that gizmo and pull it. I started running an extension cord (15A) to an adapter and kept the camper plugged in to avoid the battery dying when my BIL/SIS were using my camping spot where I would normally leave the camper plugged into the 30A outlet.

I just installed a full battery disconnect on the negative battery cable side that kill everything while in storage. About $30 on the jungle website with a additional battery cable. Takes about 1 hour to install and will save your batteries from discharging.

I've done the same as Texas Steve on my last 2 trailers.
Some rv's have multiple wires going to the positive side, and mine only had one
to the Negative side so that was easier for me to deal with.

Depending on when your 2019 model was built, it could have KeyTv which will also have a draw.

Speaking about batteries, mine is 5 years old now and still good as far as I know...I do keep it on a battery tender during the winter...question is, what is the average life of an RV battery? I've never had a dead battery leaving it sit for 6-7 weeks in between trips, I do use the disconnect when it's sitting.

When I added the battery disconnect, I replaced the 5 year old batteries. One of them had a slight bulge to the side of the case. They were in the trailer when we bought it used and lasted another year.

This is your solution! We had that issue when we first got our current 5th wheel. Installed a total disconnect switch and even after a month or more could easily run our slides out and back in, in storage yard without connecting to truck.
