Just watch your truck, horses love the taste of automotive paint & can gnaw it down to bare metal in a single bite.
While still working I parked my work truck to work on a pump, heard strange noises from behind the truck, 3 horses had chewed ALL the paint off the top edge of the tailgate to the point it looked chrome.

^ I can second that! Had it happen at a gas plant many years ago. There used to be a lot of wild horses in southern Alberta back then. They came right on in through the open gates. They seem to be attracted to the color white. We closed the gates after us when working in that area after that.

Same with cows. Their toungs are like sandpaper and they love the taste of wax. Seen in first hand on my second cousins dairy farm years ago.

Elk in Jasper campground

I took my wife to Jasper to see the wildlife. We had driven around for 2 days trying to see some and on the 2 evening when we got back to the campsite this is what walked between our campsite and a neighbors campsite.

Don't know why the pictures went sideways. Must be because of upload size.

These guys aren't as magnificent as elk or horses, but they're definitely more difficult to photograph. I sat very still among some logs to catch this one with a long lens. Some friends really liked it so I gave them a digital copy, then they had a Costco canvas print made which now hangs in our trailer.

Bighorns in Radium

DW took this picture outside of our favourite Chinese restaurant (well actually the only authentic Chinese one in Radium).
These big fellas are a very common sight here. In the brochures Bighorns are featured.
Sorry detail not great phone camera.
Junior the Jack would just stand in the front yard and watch them go by. Now the deer that's another story.

I was trying to find these Bighorns for days when we saw the Elk in Jasper and also looked for 3 days in Banff. Was only able to show my wife when they jump out in front of us on the Hwy at Radium. My wife is from Thailand and the Big Horns is what she wanted to see the most.
