Greetings from Mid Missouri

Hello everyone,

We are definitely not new to camping. About 11 years ago we started out pulling a Jayco 31BHDS TT which worked out great when the kids were younger. Recently we purchased a pre-owned 2015 Cougar High Country 29RET. I like pulling the fiver much better. We are still getting to know our way around the Cougar and thought it would be nice to join a community of fellow outdoor enthusiasts where we might be able to help new campers starting out as well as getting some answers to some questions we have from you seasoned veterans out there. Looking forward to talking with you.

Hi Otowncamper. Where do you like to camp up there? Looks like an easy day trip to the Mark Twain NF. Astral Valley is on my list for a someday.

Are the biting bugs as bad up that way as in SW MO and Arkansas? Without a soaking in permethrin I'm guaranteed to get eaten by chiggers and ticks the first step off the pavement down here.

Hi Kay9Medic. Mark Twain is very nice and there are several places to stay up there.
We also like several State Parks as well. Onondaga State Park, Montauk State Park has good trout fishing Bennett Springs also has good fishing and of course, we like to come down your way and stay at Table Rock State Park. My advise is to stay in the water and out of the grass. Ha!!

Welcome from southeast Texas. Nice country up there. I had folks in Boonville, Cooper County awhile back, 200 years ago. Arrow Rock State Park ain't bad. We're way overdue to return to Eminence for more canoeing.

Welcome to the forum from Kansas City, MO! Glad you're here!

I'm from St. Louis originally and lived in Sullivan from '86 to '96. I used to work at the Owensville Walmart Pharmacy.

Lots if great places to camp in MO. Right now I'm in Michigan and can't believe I never came here before. Very nice.

Will be attending a wedding next September, in Rolla. Any places we should look into this year to stay?
