can you parallel a Honda EU2000ui with a Predator 2000
I have already a Honda EU2000ui generator and want to run my 15 k air conditioner can I purchase a Harbor freight Predator 2000 generator and a Harbor freight parallel kit and parallel the 2 to run my 15 k ac on my Keystone Cougar ???
Has anyone done this and is it possible ?

It’s very unlikely that two different makes of generators can be banked together. I would contact either or both companies and ask that question. You risk damaging one or both if you try it and it doesn’t work.

This was discussed recently in another thread. The general consensus is that you can’t mix brands. Ultimately the owners manual should be your guide.

You can do it ONCE......but it will only last for a few milli-seconds and will likely provide you with a pre July 4th fireworks celebration, along with some smoke and fire.
Seriously though, different brands of generators will not pair together with positive results.

On many generator lines, you can NOT even pair "same brand generators of the same size".... As an example, the old style Champion 2000 watt generator can not be paired with the current style "suitcase" 2000 watt generator.
As posted, trying to rig a "work around parallel system" is a great way to damage/destroy your current "working Honda" and also damage/destroy the "off brand generator".... Once you turn on the circuit breaker on either generator, the "moment of truth" may be exactly that: A moment of sheer terror as you try to shut down the burning, melting mess before the fire reaches the fuel tanks......
DON'T DO IT WITHOUT CONTACTING THE GENERATOR MANUFACTURERS (both of them) AND GETTING THEIR INSTRUCTIONS AND ADVICE.....

I was faced with the same problem. You either sell the top priced Honda and use that to buy a matching genny of the lower priced brand or bite the bullet and get a Honda to pair with your other Honda. Either way works its just about money.

I am curious, other than doubling your available wattage, what else does the pairing process do?
Does it “coordinate” the phase of the two generator outputs?

When pairing two generators that are specifically made to parallel, you will increase your available power (Wattage) and of course be able to operate more stuff.
If you try to parallel two generators that are not specifically made to be paralleled, the issue will likely be mismatched voltage outputs between the two, as well as voltages that are out of phase with each other. So it's a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that you will have successfully proven that it will not work. The bad news is that now you will need two new generators.

Thanks for the insight.
I am not doubting the outcome. Rather I am trying to understand the reason for the outcome.

Another advantage to pairing is the generators, by splitting the load, operate at lower rpm’s and are thus quieter and use less fuel.

OK....I mistakenly thought you were questioning the reason that it wouldn't work. So hooking two generators together will be kind of like having bought one single larger wattage generator. The pros are that the two smaller generators are lighter weight than buying a single larger generator. If one breaks down, you still have at least some power. The downsides are two of them to maintain instead of one, and of course the heavier weight might make it more difficult to load/unload into a truck or camper.

called Harbor Freight Predator customer service
After reading comments I thought maybe I should sell my Honda and purchase 2 Harbor freight Predator generators, this morning I called Harbor freight Predator generator customer service and they told me that just as long as my Honda is same 2000 output as the 2000 Predator that I can piggyback them together ? So don't know what to think or what to do !
The guy told me their is a video on it on You tube

I would want that in writing from HF or Predator along with a replacement warranty for both generators.

That includes not connecting those generators even to other similar units unless the serial numbers are on the "approved to use" list.....
Also, take a look at this report about using generators in parallel: https://cdn.selinc.com/assets/Litera...0191007-203006 The bottom line is in the conclusion on page 12.
In short, the youtube you linked to says, "Don't try it unless you know what you're doing.".

This is like taking a modern Ford and replacing the engine with a modern Chevy LS and expecting the ECU and all the sensors in the Ford to run the Chevy engine. Ain’t with thinking about. IMHO

Heck, my 2200 Honda’s won’t even parallel to older Honda’s, I have zero faith that they’ll parallel with a Predator.

I recommend you return the Predator, and order a Genkins 4500IF from Walmart delivered for $475, to run your 15K AC, keep the Honda for light duty.
