What did you do to your RV today?

Changed my lights from 2 incandescent stop/turn/tail and 2 back up to 4 LED stop/turn/tail.

Swapped the nonfunctional 13.5K A/C in the bedroom for a functioning 15K A/C.... and finally received the shelves for the fridge that were borrowed after the PDI...

We worked on the bathroom, installed a new faucet (huge improvement) and command strips for bath and hand towels. Then we added a magnetic door catch to keep the bedroom door open. I did this while the mrs. decorated. This rv is becoming our home away from home!

Started a little project that I’ve been wanting to do since I bought the trailer. The bunks have a storage area under them, but it was such a pain getting to the stuff since you had to lift the bed and pull up on the hinged wood panel (but it was too wide to go up straight). Now I don’t have to make the kids get up or move the mattress. I can just grab and go. Just waiting for the trim to come in so I can finish and cover up the wood frame.

I finished doing my third A/C unit....taking the inside covers off and checking/redoing the tape job for the ducting. One of the ducts on the curbside of the unit was possibly either installed a little out of alignment or just moved a bit. About 1/2 of the height of the ductwork opening was sagging down and effectively blocking at least 1/2 of the opening for the cold air to flow into the duct. It was flexible enough to move up to where it should be, so I grabbed my Staplegun and shot about 1/2 dozen staples in it to so that the duct opening was as large as it should have been. I then taped the entire inlet side and outlet side where there needs to be tape in order to completely seal the respective compartments for inlet air and outlet air. It made a pretty big difference on the airflow from the unit, and every little bit helps when it gets hot out.

I replaced the outdoor kitchen faucet from a quick-connect head to a tilt head.

Did the poormans version of the RV AC air flow upgrade (https://youtu.be/3Vhv_b-1zAk) definitely helped. 1 in/out divider was out of place, duct out of ac was partially blocked with tape. Ceiling vents need to be replaced with louvered ones instead of the flat plate style.
Manufactured (https://youtu.be/V9rEQb05Qv4 ) definitely has some advantages, smooth air flow and increased intake plenum, but at $200 I'll try my version for a while.

Yours looks awesome. I thought about adding cabinet doors (and might someday), but for now I'm just going to leave it open (trim the exposed frame though). The frame on the floor acts as a stop for stuff inside the area so I don't need to worry about things flying around in transit. Plus, it will be a great place to put the dog food/water bowl when camping.

I can’t use my area under the stove due to the water lines/shutoff valve, but I'm still curious to see what you did. Maybe I could do the same for the area above the refrigerator.

About a week ago, I installed a pair of simple Camco SunShield Reflective Door Window Covers on my rig to keep the interior heat down. Today, I went out to adjust them more tightly on the (now set) Velcro strips, and I discovered that the bottom of the interior window bezel on both doors is melting! WT*! Is this really a thing???

Added a lockable door knob to the bathroom. I thought I was gonna have to drill out the area for the striker, but with a little elbow grease (rubber mallet) I was able to work it in. The door actually feels more secure when closing the door (less play). For $8.50, it's a no brainer for a little added privacy.

I can see this easily happening. One, your trapping heat between the insulation and window. Second, with the reflective material it could be accidentally directing the rays to a single point similar to a magnifying glass super heating that area enough to do damage.

We were told by the factory tech that did warranty work on our last 5er do not put reflective material on the inside of the dual pane windows due to excessive heat build up, if needed use it outside or add sunscreens outside.

My 2020 2600 passport has the double bunks with the storage doors below the bunks.. mine is early model so no rear outside door nor does the bunk lift up.. I simply put tubs under mine, with cord tied to them so I can pull them all out to get to last one... it's a bit of a pain but keeps me from having to crawl into to grab the farthest one back.. I can fit 3 of them in there... thought about hinging the bottom bunk but decided I didn't want to mess with it...

I can certainly see that happening. Years ago when I was a Project Manager for a major retailer it was common to build storefronts with a mullion about 3' off the sill to create a lower and an upper pane. The bottom was filled with anodized aluminum and the top with glass. The "designers" decided to cost cut and make the entire pane one solid piece and have the bottom blocked out with window film.

I tried to tell them it was a bad idea but what did I know? Well, first hot day the sun heated up the bottom of the glass rapidly and every pane facing the sun shattered. So then we spent more money going back to the original design.

Couple things, first off got my truck back from the repair shop on Tue. They didn't do me too bad on the labor, removed and replaced the radiator, water pump, belt, fan shroud, and both fuel filters. Total cost for labor was $378. Parts, I sourced form both Napa and two different Ram dealers. That's what cost me. The radiator alone was nearly $900.

Anyway, for the Cougar, I corrected an issue that has annoyed me from the first day of ownership. I cannot understand why any RV manufacturer would install two identical doors with identical locks and have them keyed differently. Drove me nuts. So, I ordered and installed a keyed alike set of Latch It RV door locks. Took all of about 20 minutes to do both doors, including programming my own code into the keypads and matching 2 of the included 4 fobs to both doors. Now when I hit the lock/unlock button on the fob, both door locks activate.

Next on the to do list is install the dash cam DW got for me. And sometime in the next week, I need to get out early in the morning and check all my tire pressures, partially fill the water tank and pack clothes and some food in the rig. We're headed for South Dakota in 8 days.

I think I'm going to make up an aluminum foil strip and fasten it to the bottom edge of the window bezel to deflect the deflected sunlight. :-(

If that fails too, or the bezel ends up deformed even worse, I can always resort to the ultimate solution, which is to install one of those thin-shade products. It replaces the entire bezel anyway and solves the shade problem at the same time. But it's an expensive fix for a problem caused by a widely-available $10 big-name camping products "solution."

I've had enough experience with this problem to understand why. The doors are shipped from Lippert with latches already installed, and the factory just grabs doors and installs them.

I rekeyed my doors alike, then had a filon problem that necessitated complete replacement of one door. Surprise, I got handed a new door key. Complained to the service manager, who said I never told him I wanted him to re-use the original latch. Told the manager I was never informed the latch would be replaced as part of the repair.
