5th Wheel & RV Newbies
Happy to find this forum and all the experience and advice!
We just purchased our first RV, a 2010 Springdale 280 5th wheel, and our tow vehicle is a Dodge 3500. We plan to use the RV on our Hill Country property while building and during down time, will take it on road trips.
Realistically, we don’t expect much down time until building is complete, so not fooling ourselves about that but excited about the future prospect of RVing!
Looking forward to being a part of this forum!

Welcome!
Wife's brother & family lived in Sugarland (New Territory) for 20 years up til a couple years ago & moved to Missouri City, we'll be there next week less the rv for a cruise out of Galveston. Where in the hill country?

Thanks for the welcome, Travelin Texans!
We're neighbors in out Big State! Our property is in the sleep town of Blanco. Do you have a home base?

The Blanco area is pretty nice. The Old 300 BBQ place on the square is pretty good chow. Used to be a steak house which was really good as well. The Chess Club cafe is a pretty fair place for a sandwich as well. The area is a great place to ride a motorcycle. We live SW of Blanco near Medina Lake in the Hill Country. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks! Yes, lots of scooters in the area! And now that the weather is cooling down a bit I'm sure will be plenty more, including my husband's as soon as we build the barn!

Since you are building a barn, I would build it big enough, and tall enough, for your new 5th wheel and any future RV. Texas weather can do some real damage to RV's.
Welcome to the forum from the other side of Houston.

Thanks for the welcome, Gearhead. I hear ya! I saw a lot of harsh examples of sun damage when I was shopping for our RV. Happy to say our barn plan is large enough to fit all our vehicles plus the 5er! BTW, how many do you have?! That's a long list!

Vehicles? In the garage: wife's Chevy Traverse, Ram dually and the NauticStar bay boat. In my "junkyard" (6ft privacy fenced off from our backyard): the Montana HC, the Bigfoot, the GoDevil mud boat, 6x14 utility trailer, and a pirogue in the backyard barn. I'm already breaking deed restrictions by having the RV's. But they are all the way to the back of the lot and screened by a 6ft cedar fence. No one has said anything about it. Several neighbors have RV's or offshore boats stored in their backyards. A couple neighbors have built RV carports at the far back of their property. I'm considering that, or on some acreage our son has bought. Right now I'm waiting on a string of good weather to attack the Montana oxidation.
I just got back from a fishing trip and was approached about selling the Bigfoot. I'm considering it. Too much stuff to maintain.

We just traded our 2004 Springdale in for a new Laredo. The Springdale exceed our expectations. Had to replace the A/C after 11 years but besides that, we only had to replace a few light bulbs. Congrats and welcome.
