Our plans are extremely "fluid" right now. We are wanting to escape to warmer weather in south Texas for a few weeks, but trying to get past all this "stuff" in the Midwest and northeast is proving to be a bigger challenge than digging the Cougar out of the pole barn.

For sure, the last week in May/first week in June will be spent "dry camping" at our favorite bass lake in the UP. That's opening weekend of bass season. Then, we are torn as to whether or not to tow the Cougar to Washington for that Alaskan cruise or fly and then head to the Dakota's and Idaho after we get back. I'm sure I'll receive "sufficient guidance" from the "decision maker" when she decides what we're going to do....

Then, in the fall, it's back to the UP for the "fall colors" at Tequaminen Falls, set up the Cougar for deer season and then drag it home, push it into the pole barn and start the "snow season" all over again.

Hopefully, we'll get about 60-90 days of travel/camping this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing some tulips, grass, leaves on trees or "anything" that indicates winter is leaving !!!!! but the weatherman says no temps above 40 until close to the end of May...... <sigh>

Not much planned for this year.

Just one trip to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Flaming Gorge, Zion, North Rim of Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Flagstaff/Sedona, Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. Then back home.

Be on the road for about 2 months.

Your plans sound great! I hope they all happen as planned.
Since I pretty much camped from October until Feb, this year will be a little different.
In May, I have every weekend scheduled at a local lake. My hubby got a bright idea about renting a spot for the season (april-september) near this lake so as a test drive, I booked a month of weekends at the state park close to the lake. We'll see if he goes up there every weekend. (I bet not....)
then we are going kayaking in Lake Tahoe in July. Not camping but driving down and staying in a time share resort on the lake. October starts the salmon run again in Tillamook bay.

Our Hideout did fantastic this past year and we look forward many more years of camping!

Happy Camping!!

April - a couple local trips to help learn the new camper and also what we really need.
Late May - Early June - Trip to ME for work/play
June-Sept - local weekend trips, maybe one week long trip.

Normally we'd have all our trip plans for the year booked by now. But this crazy weather plus remodeling the sticks and bricks has us all discombobulated. The only trip planned for now is our New Year's trip to Rockport. If the weather returns to something akin to normal and the contractors get finished soon, then we'll set down and figure out where, when and for how long.

Unfortunately for me I can't make plans until I receive orders and find out when and where we will be stationed next. However, regardless of when we are planning a cross country road trip this summer! Hopefully we will be able to be on the road for about 2-3 months.

You're making me jealous! That trip, without the Sedona and New Mexico portions, would be a dream vacation for us. When in Flagstaff, make sure you at least drive through the Sunset Crater area. Nice drive through old lava flows. And don't forget Meteor Crater to the east. And for Lake Powell, make sure you bring plenty of fishing gear and sunscreen. I went to high school there, and go back often. The picture in our signature below is in the parking lot of the campground office. You can PM me if you have any questions about Powell or Flagstaff. Otherwise, have a great trip when you go.

We seasonal camp so we will be camping almost every weekend. We also will be spending the second week of July in the U.P. and will be in South Dakota for the Sturgis rally in August.

Unless you have already been there I would suggest you not miss Bryce Canyon. You will be so close. If need be one night in Sunset Campground a drive around the loop and out of there by noon Pretty spectacular.

Our second trip this year is Sedona in March then maybe over to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Everything is fluid for now but Jackson, Yellowstone and Cody Wyoming are likely again this summer.

We are looking at plans, but that dang job keeps getting in the way... March-June are gonna be filled with short weekend trips to local campgrounds, Lake Murray State Park & Chickasaw Nat. Rec Area. July or Aug we want to head to Eagle Nest, NM for a couple weeks to escape the summer heat. Anyone know the best time to visit Raton, NM? I was thinking late fall or early spring?

We are about to take custody of our new 2014 Bullet 230BHS, will do a couple local trips to familiarize ourselves with the trailer, then trek 1200 miles to Disneyland in April. After that, our annual Memorial Day trip to Lake Wynoochie, WA, then as many times as we can get there this summer. Maybe a trip to either Mt Shasta or Mt Saint Helens at the end of summer. Who knows, maybe Mt Ranier too... Bottom line, camp as much as possible!

We have plans for the Belleville (KS) USAC Midget Nationals Aug 1. It's on my list of historic tracks to see. We seem unable to make a decision on what else. It's been years since we've done the Rockies. We both want to go to New England...never been anywhere close to it. May just load up and head northeast...destination unknown.

Looking forward to being able to spend more time on the road in a couple of years! Until then, we'll be taking some short trips and gleaning information from all of you! Dennis works three or four days a week in Gonzales, TX and we live about 75 miles away in Austin, and I work in Austin. We often camp at Palmetto State Park near Gonzales. It's a great little getaway for us, family, and friends. Hoping to get down to the Texas coast for a few days this spring. Oldest daughter is getting married the end of April and then we will need a break! We covered most of the lower 48 states in a tent with our four girls when they were young...still lacking a few states including the Dakotas so I think we will venture up there in May. Want to see the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and some of the Little House on the Prairie places. This summer, we are planning a cousin campout but not sure where that will be. Most likely at Galveston or Huntsville State Park.

Headed to Nashville for traditonal long weekend in May. Family comes from PA, NC, and TN. Long weekend over Labor Day planned at Myrtle Beach. Two weeks planned in Keys over Christmas and New Year. One of the weeks will have family from NC TN and PA....at least 12 of us for Christmas...really psyched about that esp given the 12+ in of snow we are getting today. Still looking for place for July 4 week. We did western Smokies 2 yrs ago and Eastern Smokies last year. Guess we could do Northern Smokies... .

^Wow! Jealous.

Only two trips planned so far. 5 nights at Shaver Lake and Memorial Day weekend at Cachuma Lake. I use the term lake loosely as these lakes may be mud holes if we don't get some rain this winter...
