Black plastic cover

Can anyone identify what to call this black plastic cover on the left side of the photo? It covers a hole between the floor and the wall where whoever cut into the floor for the electrical in the wall was a little too enthusiastic in cutting. You can’t tell in the second photo, but I can stick my fingers in between wall and floor. I would love to replace it with a smaller cover to get more floor space in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. All my searches online have not been the best. Apparently I’m a failure at searching.

That looks like the speaker baffles in the overhead cabinet in our Cougar. Used to "enclose the speaker holes" for the outside speakers.... I'm not sure what to call them except "speaker baffles".

It looks like someone made a "boo boo" on your cabinet floor ?????? They might have looked for an easy way out and used one of the speaker baffles to hide the mistake ????? If you look on the inside of the cabinet where the outside speakers are mounted, you will probably find two more.....

As for what to do about the floor, maybe a strip of plastic siding corner mold, cut to fit and glue it to the floor and up the wall from the front edge to the rear edge of that side of the cabinet. That would seal the floor and prevent "fingers from getting caught" as well......

It does look like the just "picked up something" to cover the holes. I don't remember in what trailer but we had something very similar looking to that that was a cover for some kind of electronics?? Don't remember. Oh well....

If you need to get it out to use the additional space I think I'd just take it out and find a material that either was a nice contrast or could be painted/stained, cut 2 pieces to fit the floor and wall, round the edges, lightly glue to floor/wall and thin bead the edges with caulk. The material wouldn't have to be very thick no bigger than the area looks.

I have several of those in our alpine. That’s actually half of what the box looks like. They are used like that in our trailer but also as a outlet box for electrical.

I don’t know how big the hole is, but I’ve used marine plates to get wires through a wall and then down

It is very definitely an “oops” from the factory. And very definitely something they just grabbed to cover the oops. It’s right where all the electrical wires come down for the slides, lights, etc. from the main button control panel which is on the other side of the wall. I haven’t cared up to now. But now I actually want to use the floor space. Fingers fitting in there doesn’t bug me, it’s the thought of a mouse, etc being able to come in that bugs me. I can just imagine opening that bathroom cabinet door to something that says “hi” one morning. Ugh! (The 2 holes for pipes have been closed off from below so nothing can come up them).

I hadn’t thought of it until you all said it, but a piece of molding or L-shaped piece would work great on there instead of a smaller box thingie. Thank you!
