I just love my rear view camera, great to be able to see what's back there on the highway, in traffic, are the bikes still there? . Love it. It's a Haloview not a Furrion, but designed to use the same bracket and power lead.

I'm also waiting for my BAL Hide-a-Spare, they were on backorder for a while. Getting mine tomorrow from Amazon.

Ouch! That doesn't look fun at all! And it is right on the shoulder, which usually means a new tire.

I looked and saw that it was still in storage on my way to work this morning, I've been doing way too much of that lately.

I noticed it while dumping the tanks at Fort Wilkins State Park in Copper Harbor Michigan. I (VERY) briefly thought about having it patched and saved as a spare, but in the interest of safety decided to have the matching spare mounted on the aluminum wheel and a new tire mounted on the steel wheel for the spare when we got to Houghton/Hancock. We are in the midst of a 3,000+ mile trip, so I am not messing around.

(Finally) Installed my Progressive Industries HW50C EMS.

Final results are good, and I like how it works so far, but haven't tested it on the road yet.

I will say, trying to manipulate the AWG6 wire was way less fun than I had anticipated.
If I had to do it over, I may have considered hiring it out.
There is BARELY enough room in the box to get the amperage coils installed on the 6 gauge wires (and of course once I finally did, they were both installed the wrong way around).
Best place I found to install it was behind my pass thru storage wall, which had to be removed. Installation meant me being twisted in a pretzel, inside the middle of my pass-thru storage space in 95f heat with 85% humidity. (my own fault for not doing it in the spring).

The whole job took about 3hrs in total, and will be well worth the piece of mind.

As an added bonus, I figured out why my inside speakers weren't working, which had been an ongoing issue.
When I pulled the electrical panel out to inspect for a spot to install the EMS, besides the "rat's nest" of wiring back there, I also found an old mouse nest. within that nest was a chewed in half wire that connect my stereo to my amplifier.
Once this was repaired, all worked again.

Lucky that was all they chewed up in there, I guess.

Harleydodge, you dodged (no pun intended) a bullet with the limited mouse damage. I’m glad you found it before more harm was caused.

Congratulations on the new EMS system, it didn’t occur to me that the 6 gauge wires would be that difficult to work with. My trailer is only 30amp so the wires, I think 10 gauge, were easy to manipulate.

The 6 gauge is a huge PITA. I was cursing up a storm when I wired up my post with a 30amp connector (but it is 4 conductor 6-gauge for future expansion to a 50amp). Very rigid and stuff stuff.

Today was a busy day.

#1 Was mounting the TV to the wall. Our Bullet Crossfire didn't have a marked TV location, but I scouted a spot with no wires whole I was replacing the analog thermostat a few weeks ago. Four 3/4" long hollow wall anchors and we're rock solid. All cables are routed into the cabinet to the upper left of the TV. The cabinet contains the antenna hookup, power, and Android box. Cable ties on all cables every six inches.

#2 Replaced the stock shower head with the much better Camco model that looks and works just like a home shower head, but still has the on/off switch.

#3 Replaced the command strips on my coat rack with 3/4" wood screws. It's solid now, and previously the rack would fall down once a day with a few hoodies. I had about ten times the weight requirement command strips and they still wouldn't stay up.

#4 Fixed the small blinds that my nine year old accidentally pulled off the wall, and didn't tell anyone about.

Progress!Click image for larger version

It's been a really busy couple of weeks. Lots of changes, not necessarily today. Preparing to sell our house and hit the road full-time, so lots of exciting changes underway.

Finally got around to installing an EC-30 generator start controller after a couple years of letting the parts sit in the box. Starts my generator on AC power loss, to keep the dogs cool when they're left in the RV and the site loses power. We don't run our generator at campgrounds to be courteous to others, but in an emergency, we want our pups to be safe. Ordered a RVPetSafety alarm to text us when power fails or temps go up, as well, so we can return to the site as quickly as possible.

Ordered a new sofa to replace the existing one in the RV, which has started peeling. New one should be a nice upgrade as it has built-in cupholders, USB ports, and some other niceties.

Just bought a new tow vehicle, a 2019 Ram 3500 Longhorn CCLB DRW with the Cummins HO/Aisin combo. Added a 60 gal RDS aux tank, plumbed in with an electric pump and 120AT filter toggled by one of the upfitter switches. Got my dash cam installed and started looking at mounting my TM-D710G UHF/VHF ham radio. Ordered a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite bed cover. Mopar OE mud flaps should be arriving via UPS today. Waiting on a few things for the 2019s to hit the market and trying to decide how stock to keep it. Probably a lot more than my last truck. Might do another front bumper and am contemplating going up to 255/80r17 tires (one size up), but the more I think about it the less likely I think I am to do it.

Screwed around with the hitch a bit and decided to keep the Curt A16 on a picture frame adapter with our Sidewinder Airborne pinbox. Seems to turn a bit tighter vs locked out, and track really nicely behind the truck. Everything sits pretty well, though the truck might be a touch low in the rear for my preference. Definitely not going with air bags again, so might do upper StableLoads. The lower overload has an odd curve to it, so I don't think the A7310 (lower) will work and StableLoad doesn't list it as compatible on their site.

My beautiful bride wanted a better faucet in the master bath so that's what I did today. My guess is that she'll want the same in the 1/2 bath in the garage (Carbon 357 5th wheel toy hauler). But with today's practice, I should be able to install one in about an hour!Click image for larger version

Copied the same idea, but put 2 one 8' the other 7' because it went behind the steps.

EMT or rigid? Wondering if EMT is strong enough to prevent flex, though its nice and light. Definitely a worthwhile mod it seems. Nice work!
