No you do not. I use my NuWave both inside and out without any kind of problems. You would have to be aware of what you are running on the individual circuit you have the cooktop on. You wouldn't want to run other high draw items that might exceed the amperage of the breaker for that particular circuit. Then, when it is in use, you would have to be aware of what else was going on in the trailer, even on different circuits, so you don't exceed the 30A for the trailer.
