I 75 detour

Traveling south on I75 last week a section on Southbound lane just south on Tenn KY state line, shifted due to sliding down hill. 30 mile detour. On return trip Wed, they were constructing a crossover lane using one lane of northbound. it will be better than the local roads but still a bottleneck until repair is complete.

As the State Line is on the North side of Jellico Mtn. is the detour on the uphill or downhill side of the Mtn. ?

If I remember correctly, the South end runs out onto a flat section, used to have a fairly decient restraunt on the right at the bottom in Tn.
