Just a white hose can get better more expensive/thicker white if needed.(good to have 2)
I find a little taste from stored water tank maybe, but none hooked up to city water.
I do run water for a minute before hooking it up to camper.
It's very possible and likely the filter or hose is getting heated that could cause a unpleasant taste.
