SERVICE ADVISORY # 15-244 Roof Membrane

I didn't see this one listed but my search may have been wrong. I find it VERY interesting that they can put out a TSB document in 2015 about their crappy workmanship on 2016 products. Like WTH, just do it right when you get to that point in the time continuum instead of issuing a proactive recall ahead of time... Joking but what kind of BS is this?

That said, I dodged this one with a bullet...... 3 units before mine was the last serial number in the range (yea right I believe those vin's like I believe they have a QC Dept), un-flipping believable the trash we get for our money, I hate regulations but someone needs to start regulating these capitalist pig corporations, I dug out 3 huge hole saw debris chunks out of my ducting this week and have to pull it all apart to find out where the air's going.... but I digress.

Huh. One would think that a factory-sliced roof on a 2016 rig would have made itself known well before now.

Date of TSB: Dec 8, 2015

Keep in mind that the 2016 model production started well before that date.
So it wasn't actually a proactive recall ahead of time.

Some of the 2016 units affected were actually built before that TSB date.
They discovered the issue, and that prompted the TSB for the VIN numbers listed.

Of course all RV manufacturers could (should) do a much better job of quality control.
But in this case they discovered an issue while building and issued the TSB for some of the units that had already been built.

Serious? Good catch, my blonde roots are showing again, of course they don't start production 1/1/2016 for the 2016 model year units and that notice being put out Dec 2015 makes perfect sense, thank you Sensai, your wisdom carries much power.

My 2019 model was built on August 22, 2018. Keystone already has some 2024 models on dealer lots right now, even though I still am seeing a ton of 2023’s and even a few 2022’s.

Yep. My 2014 Cougar was ordered in March 2013, delivered to me in May 2013 and listed with a 2014 VIN/equipment and updated floorplan. Well, everything on it was/is 2014 except for the decal "swoops" on the driver's sidewall. They are 2013 "swoops" and don't match the curb side "swoops". The only reason I noticed it in 2021, was when I was looking at photos of the trailer "side by side" and noticed that the decals weren't the same on both sides. I got to checking and found that the roadside looked like the 2013's and the curbside looked like the 2014.... I'm "fairly particular" about my trailer and its appearance, but it took me nearly 8 years before I noticed that the decals don't match. I'd bet the farm that my trailer isn't the only one that was "sold in one year and listed as the next year on the VIN and sales documents".... It's easy to see why a TSB could be issued in 2015 for 2016 trailers since they had been on the lots and sold to buyers for at least "half a year" by December when that TSB was issued.

Another case of Keystone using up the leftover parts before breaking out the new parts.....

Anyway, as stated in multiple previous posts, a model year production run for Keystone usually starts well before the "July shutdown" and after the workers return to work the Monday after the shutdown, everything from there forward is "next year's models"....

So, right now, almost everything that Keystone is building is a 2024 VIN (except for special orders that have not yet been built) and some of them will be delivered as "current year trailers" even though they were ordered with "last year's production and pricing".....

I would think you would have at least noticed that your trailer is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

??? The 2013 and 2014 are the same floorplan, the same width and the same length. If there is any "change in interior size" it would be more an optical illusion than an actual physical difference. I've "guessed" (without any way to confirm) that the plant had some left over 2013 roadside wall structures remaining at the changeover (complete with decals already applied) and since they are "identical in size and function" they simply used up what was on the shelf. Since they were "built for a 2013 with 2013 graphics" that side doesn't match the "updated 2014 graphics" on the opposing trailer wall which was built after the changeover....

Sorry, it was just a Time Machine joke, looks like you've never been a Doctor Who fan.

George, you lost 3/4 of the folks on here. But I appreciate the joke. My dad and I still watch episodes of Carol Burnette, Red Skelton, and other comedians old the "great age." Monty Python counts as well. :-)
