subwoofer in fifth wheel

Has anyone added a subwoofer to their sound system in their rig. I have a hideout fifth wheel and looking for some ideas to add some depth to the current set up.

To my surprise there was one behind the fireplace. Not familiar with your floor plan, but might look around.

Are you talking about adding a second one or does yours not have one? Mine came with one. It's nothing special.

Just be "aware" of the sub. One of the most irritating sounds in existence are the folks running around in 20 year old cars with a $50 sound system and a $200 sub thinking all the booming and buzzing is cool.

I used to be an audiophile and still am to so some degree; I appreciate music that has clarity and depth. An RV system isn't that kind of sound unless you replace it from start to finish....but back to the sub.

Our friends purchased a new, nice 5th wheel before meeting us in FL. We got everything set up and had a grand old time for a couple of days. Then, one morning boom, boom, boom. Told DW what have they got in there? Didn't know he was a rap kind of guy (turned out it wasn't rap - just the bass line)! I let it go. The next day...boom, boom, boom...about 8am. That was too much. I went over and asked if they would turn down the sound system and they did. Then, boom boom again. I went over and he told me he had turned it down but it was still "booming". Come to find out he had a sub and he had no idea what a "sub" was. He had to call and find out to shut it down but all was good after that.

All that to say, and I'm sure you already know, the low frequencies of a sub can really travel so to speak and become irritating to those around you if you aren't aware of what is going on.

Ahhh yes, sub woolfers - I have ripped ours out of this 5er, the last 5er as well as unplugged the one in my truck. Then there is that 20 yo idiot across the street that has had the local police called on him at least 3X that I'm aware of plus had the neighbor in back of them take a swing at his father about the hours of boom boom boom and not a note of music

Bose solo sound bar

We bought a Bose solo sound bar from Sam’s to put in our previous RV (2017 Laredo 330RL) and moved it over to the Montana. I think it was on sale for $200 or so. The speakers that came with the Monte are nothing special. The Bose is in the cabinet right behind the TV. It sounds better than the Samsung sound bar and subwoofer I have at home.

I agree with sourdough...thumping bass irritates the dog fire outta me. I don’t like to hear it in the car next to me at a stop light or across the campground.

I’m not looking for subs to hit, I really just want clarity as I love music and most of not all music is not the same without a speak hitting the low frequencies... sound coming from 2 stock speakers do not give the definition I am looking for.. but also not looking to create camping enemies...

Understood dannx, it’s just difficult to build a system that that would have much quality given the multitude of floor plans in these RV’s. I know the manufacturer doesn’t go out of there way to provide top quality sound for sure. Mine is a toy hauler so I do have a little room to set up a decent system if I’m a mind to but we do have to think of the neighbors.

I didn’t add mine to annoy anyone but I can we have a campsite so to speak at our house so it was more so we could hear it in the pool at home the klipsch is the top of the line would put it up against Bose any time
I usually get asked what kind it is if we are camping I put it in my storage lower than outside speakers so it don’t have to be loud.
