BAL X-Chocks
Has anyone used these or have these. I have a 2007 Passport with the wide space between the tires and am thinking about getting a set of these.

We have a set of them and will not camp without them! Ours are the regular short ones, but the extended ones should be just as good.

Hi,
We purchased one of these to try and haven't had a chance to test them out. Since buying one I read that they are NOT a substitute for chocking your wheels. They are used to suppress wiggle in your rig. I hope someone that has used them weighs in.

I love mine. just remember that if you put them in place while tires are warm right after a trip you will need to tighten them up in a couple of hours when your tires cool down.

They work good, and yes, you need to retighten after the tires cool, but that is easy, they come with a ratchet wrench that you can leave on there until it is time to remove them.

Even better are the onestep fastway chocks (google them), they work great on the wide spaced tires, are very easy to put in (much easier than these), and can be locked to help prevent theft.. I have them, love them, and have no affiliation with the company at all....

So these chocks really cut down on the bounce? My Bullet has the axles wide apart and it's rockin' and rollin' when we're just walkin'.

I have a pair of these type of tire chocks - one commercial similar to the one above and one that I made myself which costs next to nothing and does equally as well. (You can Google Home-made wheel chocks). My home-made ones could be adapted for both narrow and wide-spaced tires. While they do reduce the movement, they do not eliminate it.
The best solution I think - at least in a 5th wheel - is to get something like the SteadyFast or other similar stabilizer, such as JT Strongarm. By all accounts, these types are much more effective than tire chocks but are also quite a bit more expensive. It also seems that they are easier and faster to "hook up" at the site and they are conveniently attached to the jacks and frame so you don't have to store anything.

First of all, I do like the x-chocks. Second, I've never felt the need to retighten after the tires cool down. They are still plenty tight even after the tires cool down. However, if I was worried about them loosening up, I would just give them an extra half turn when installing them. After all, it's not like there is a torgue spec involved. Just give 'em a little extra when you first install them.

I have a Bullet and I have a pair of the X chocks and I'm not impressed with them at all. I read tons of great reviews about how great they are and for the price they sure be but in my option they fall short. Still a lot of movement in my trailer with them, and you are right you still need your wheel chocks. According to the instructions these X chocks are the last things on and the first things off when setting up. Just M2C!! I wouldn't buy them again!

I have a bullet too and think they work great for back to front motion. There is still some side to side issues but its a camper and not a home so I accept some movement when heavy stepping around the camper.
